2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid: New York Auto Show - Video

The 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid looks a lot like the JX35 on the outside but underneath that sleek, appealing exterior there’s plenty of green technology.

Infiniti will be combining performance and efficiency in its QX60 hybrid. It’s the third hybrid to debut in Infiniti’s lineup and will deliver 24% better fuel economy than the non-hybrid QX60 models. It also promises to provide better overall fuel economy than any other 7-passenger SUV. A 2.5-liter supercharged 4-cylinder engine is teamed up with a 15 kilowatt electric motor and continuously variable transmission, bringing total power output to around 250 horsepower.  The 2014 QX60 Hybrid’s combined fuel economy is rated at an impressive 26miles-per-gallon.

More good news: the QX60 hybrid will provide just as much cargo-carrying capacity as the non-hybrid model thanks to the lithium-ion battery pack being mounted beneath the third row seat and not intruding into the cargo bay. That's because the Pathfinder and QX60 were designed as hybrids from the beginning, so Nissan isn't just adding an electric motor and battery pack to an old design.

The 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid goes on sale this summer and Infiniti says its sticker price will be roughly $3000 more than the non-hybrid versions. The current 2013 JX35 wears a base price of just over $42,000.
