This newly redesigned midsize pickup packs all the “professional grade” functionality that GMC is known for, but with more choices and a nicer interior than the previous Canyon.
Engine & Options
There are two engine choices: a 193-horsepower 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder or a 302-hp 3.6-liter V6. Either way, you’ll have the power you need for work or play. Of course, the Canyon is available in 2- or 4-wheel drive. You’ll also have a choice of extended cab or 4-door crew cab.
For those who want to do some serious off-roading, the Canyon has an All Terrain Package available only on the SLT.
The new Canyon’s interior is clearly one of its strengths. Thanks to triple-sealed doors, a well-insulated cabin and smartly designed interior, the cab should remain as quiet as it is comfortable.
Technology & Safety
A ton of standard features and options make the Canyon hard for shoppers to resist.
With a standard rearview camera, StabiliTrak stability control system and Trailer Sway Control, you can tow with confidence.
And for the first time GMC is offering optional Teen Driver mode, forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning for extra peace of mind.
And that’s on top of GMC’s IntelliLink information and entertainment system.
Styling & Convenience
Designed with functionality in mind, the Canyon’s CornerStep Rear Bumper makes it easy to get in and out of the bed, while the EZ Lift and Lower Locking Tailgate lets you raise it with one hand and lower it with a smoother, more controlled motion.
No surprise here, the Canyon is definitely going to give trucks such as the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier a run for their money. With a winning combination of power, maneuverability, comfort and convenience, look for the stylish 2015 GMC Canyon to arrive in showrooms in the fall of 2014.
