What Is It?
The 2015 Nissan GT-R remains a high-performance, boldly styled coupe that serves as the flagship model in Nissan’s lineup. For the 2015 model year, Nissan is updating the car with revised suspension, improved steering, better brakes and a few other minor changes.
While the 2015 GT-R might look similar to last year’s model on the outside, Nissan says the sports car boasts some big changes under the skin. The biggest is a re-tuned suspension, which includes new bushings, new electric shock absorbers and updated stabilizer spring rates. Nissan says the changes are aimed at improving the GT-R’s already excellent handling.
In addition to its suspension changes, the GT-R also boasts improved steering that requires less effort at low speeds and provides greater high-speed stability. And the coupe includes new brakes designed to provide a more linear response when drivers push the brake pedal.
Other changes to the GT-R are mostly for appearance. There’s a new pale ivory 2-tone interior option, along with a new Gold Flake Red Pearl paint finish. And new LED headlights look more aggressive while offering a system that changes the beam’s angle to match the car’s speed, resulting in better night visibility. The GT-R’s 545-horsepower 3.8-liter turbocharged V6 is unchanged.
Nissan hasn’t said for sure, but we expect last year’s base price of $100,500 with shipping to increase by a few thousand dollars.
When Can You Get It?

With the GT-R entering its seventh model year, we expect to see a redesigned version of the high-performance sports car any time now. As a result, the 2015 Nissan GT-R is likely the final iteration of today’s model — and thanks to various updates over the years, one would argue it’s also the best.
Other Cars to Consider
Audi R8 GT — The R8 GT offers exotic car styling and excellent performance that comes close to the GT-R’s. But pricing is far in excess of even the most well-equipped GT-R models.
Chevrolet Corvette — It may not offer the same technological advancement as the GT-R, but the Corvette is a performance bargain compared to Nissan’s all-wheel-drive flagship.
Porsche 911 — While the 911 would struggle to keep up with the GT-R on a track, Porsche’s prestige far outweighs Nissan’s — probably why the 911 far outsells the GT-R.
Used Porsche 911 Turbo — Although the standard 911 can’t keep up with a GT-R, the Turbo model gets much closer. That’s due to a dual-clutch transmission, all-wheel drive and a much more powerful engine. Our only gripe is its cost, which is why you should check out a used model.
