5 Good Used Minivans Under $5,000 for 2019

If you’re looking for some of the most affordable family transportation out there and you’re willing to sacrifice some modern amenities for a great value, there’s a used minivan out there that will make life easier for you and your family. Here are five good used minivans you can find on Autotrader for less than $5,000 in 2019. As you’re about to see, a budget of $5,000 or less can get you a nicer minivan than you might think.

Chrysler Town & Country

2001-2007 Dodge Grand Caravan/Chrysler Town & Country

This generation of the Dodge Grand Caravan and the mechanically identical Chrysler Town & Country are the oldest minivans on this list, but they’re actually aging quite well. Clean examples still look nice today and they offer fantastic road manners from behind the wheel, resulting in a smooth and quiet ride for all of your passengers. If you’re shopping for the Chrysler, you can find some really nice ones in the Limited trim with luxury car like amenities. Granted, we mean "luxury car" by mid-2000s standards, but they’re still pretty nice minivans. One of our favorite features is available Stow ‘n Go seating, which was first introduced in this generation allowing you to fold all of the back seats down into a flat load floor to maximize cargo space. Honda Odyssey

2005-2010 Honda Odyssey

The Honda Odyssey got a little bigger and quite a bit safer when it entered its third generation for 2005. It incorporated the ACE (Advanced Compatibility Engineering) body structure, which distributes collision energy evenly in an accident redirecting it away from the passenger compartment. This generation of the Odyssey also comes standard with side-curtain airbags and electronic stability control on every trim. Those features are really nice to have if you’re shopping for a family hauler on a tight budget and don’t want to compromise safety. Other great features of the Odyssey are a strong V6, versatile interior space and a good reliability record. Find a Honda Odyssey for sale

Toyota Sienna

2004-2010 Toyota Sienna

The second-generation Toyota Sienna was a big improvement over the first-gen model with much more interior space for both passengers and cargo, fold-flat third-row seats and the addition of optional all-wheel drive, which is rare in this segment. Optional AWD makes a used Sienna a great choice for families who could use the extra traction in snowy winters or would just like the extra peace of mind when the roads get slick in the rain. All Siennas from the model year 2006 and newer come standard with side-curtain airbags and a tow package came standard on 2004-2007 Sienna models .Find a Toyota Sienna for sale

Buick Terraza

2005-2008 Chevolet Uplander/ Buick Terraza/ Pontiac Montana/ Saturn Relay

General Motors had a lot of different minivans in its stables before discontinuing them in favor of 3-row crossover SUVs in the late 2000s. They consisted of the Chevrolet Uplander, the Buick Terraza, the Pontiac Montana SV6 and the Saturn Relay, all of which are good values in used minivans today. All of these vans are mechanically identical and have very similar styling with slight differences in things like grille design and of course badging setting them apart. All of them were well-appointed from the base models on up with the Buick Terraza being especially nice with features like standard leather seats and wood interior trim. These vans also had optional AWD, which is a perk normally reserved for the Toyota Sienna, but it was only available on the 2005-2006 models. Find a Chevrolet Uplander for sale or Find a Buick Terraza for sale or Find a Pontiac Montana for sale or Find a Saturn Relay for sale

Nissan Quest

2004-2009 Nissan Quest

The Nissan Quest in its third generation had an interesting look that still stands out today. Its unusual aesthetic gave way to some unusual quirks like an available sunroof glass arrangement called SkyView giving it five different sunroofs: one for the front row, and two each for the second and third rows of seats. If you’re shopping for a Quest of this vintage, we recommend the SE trim, which adds lots of features like side curtain airbags, vehicle stability control, dual power doors, a power lift gate, Bose premium audio and backup sensors. Also available is a DVD backseat entertainment system with two screens, giving the third-row passengers a better viewing experience. Find a Nissan Quest for sale
