If you don’t want to spend a fortune on a new car and you’re worried about potentially expensive repairs that may crop up with a used car, you might want to consider a certified pre-owned vehicle. That’s because CPO cars and trucks are generally lightly used, with long factory warranties for greater peace of mind over standard used cars. And they’re usually a lot less expensive than brand-new models, even though they’re usually only a few years old. Best of all, some automakers offer CPO deals and incentives to help sweeten the pot for car shoppers interested in certified pre-owned vehicles. To show you what we mean, we’ve rounded up some of the top special offers available in February from a few of the best certified pre-owned programs.
Cadillac ATS, Escalade, SRX
Cadillac’s certified pre-owned program was recently upgraded and is now among the best in the industry, as it touts 6 years or 100,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage from the original sale date. In February, getting a certified pre-owned Cadillac is even more alluring than usual thanks to a strong incentive from the automaker. Through the end of the month, Cadillac is boasting 2.9 percent interest for up to 60 months on certified pre-owned versions of the ATS sedan and Escalade and SRX luxury SUVs — a good deal for used vehicles, especially considering their long warranty coverage.
The Jaguar XF is a handsome midsize luxury sedan that boasts a roomy interior and attractive styling — along with the desirable cachet of the Jaguar brand. In February, shoppers who choose a certified pre-owned XF can get a good incentive: Jaguar is offering the sedan with 0.9 percent interest for 24 months, 1.9 percent for up to 60 months and 2.9 percent for up to 72 months. That’s a great deal — especially when it’s coupled with Jaguar’s CPO program, which is among the best in the industry, as it offers 7 years or 100,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage from the original sale date.
The Lexus certified pre-owned program is among our favorites, as it boasts truly impressive coverage: 6 years of bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage, with no mileage limit from the original sale date. Of course, we also like the Lexus RX crossover for its comfortable ride and reasonable pricing compared to competitors. Combine the two and you have a recipe for success — especially in February, as Lexus is offering an enticing incentive to convince shoppers to buy a certified pre-owned RX. Through the end of the month, qualified shoppers looking to finance a CPO RX can get 1.9 percent interest for up to 48 months — an excellent deal, and one that applies to both the gas-powered RX 350 and the hybrid RX 450h.
Lincoln’s certified pre-owned program offers bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage for up to 6 years or 100,000 miles from the original sale date — a strong figure that equals or exceeds warranty coverage from most other luxury car brands. In February, Lincoln is touting an incentive to entice shoppers even further: Through the end of the month, qualified shoppers looking to finance a certified pre-owned Lincoln can get 2.9 percent interest for up to 66 months — a good deal for a used vehicle, especially considering the impressive warranty coverage.
The Mazda3 is a popular compact car that offers handsome styling, sporty handling and a surprisingly upscale interior. Meanwhile, Mazda’s certified pre-owned program is excellent, too, touting up to 7 years or 100,000 miles of powertrain coverage from the original sale date — in addition to an extra year of bumper-to-bumper coverage. In February, shoppers interested in combining the two can get a great deal on certified pre-owned 2014-2016 Mazda3 models: Through the end of the month, Mazda is offering CPO versions of the compact car with 0.9 percent interest for up to 36 months or 2.9 percent interest for up to 60 months — plus a free first payment if you finance through Mazda.
Nissan’s certified pre-owned program isn’t quite as good as the programs offered by most rivals, as it doesn’t offer an extension of the original bumper-to-bumper warranty — just additional powertrain warranty coverage. Still, that coverage is appealing, as it lasts for up to 7 years or 100,000 miles from the original sale date. In February, Nissan’s CPO program is even more appealing than usual, as the automaker is offering a strong incentive to qualified shoppers interested in financing a CPO Nissan: Through the end of the month, all CPO Nissan models are offered with 1.95 percent interest for up to 36 months — or 3.99 percent interest for up to 72 months for shoppers interested in stretching out their loan term for a lower monthly payment.
The popular Toyota Camry is a midsize sedan that’s notorious for its smooth, comfortable ride and excellent value. While the Camry was just redesigned for 2018, shoppers who don’t mind getting the "old" version can get an excellent deal if they buy one through Toyota’s certified pre-owned program: Through the end of the month, a certified pre-owned Camry is offered with 1.9 percent interest — a deal that also extends to the Camry Hybrid. That’s a good offer, especially when combined with Toyota’s excellent CPO warranty, which offers an additional year of bumper-to-bumper coverage and up to 7 years or 100,000 miles of powertrain protection.
Volkswagen’s certified pre-owned program extends the original bumper-to-bumper warranty, offering 5 years or 60,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage for most models. For qualified shoppers interested in a certified pre-owned Volkswagen, the automaker is offering a good deal this month: 1.99 percent interest for up to 60 months on all CPO Volkswagen models, which is a good deal for a used vehicle.
