If you’re looking for quite possibly the most 1980s car you can find, this limousine surely deserves your consideration. This is a 1982 Mercedes-Benz 380SEL limo, and it really sums up the 1980s: the black aftermarket wheels, the gold Mercedes-Benz badge down the side and gold trim, and the antenna mounted on the trunk. It’s just perfect.
The interior, too, is just as 1980s as the exterior: the large center console, the fake wood trim, the TV with VCR, and many other "upgrades" that would’ve seemed so luxurious for a limousine back then. Since it’s been stretched, it also has five rear seats — two facing forward, then a typical rear bench.
And right now, this Mercedes is for sale on Autotrader. It’s offered by a private seller in Farmington, New Mexico, and it’s currently listed with 34,000 miles for just $15,000. It’s finished in black with a beige interior, and it’s a welcome break from the other limos on Autotrader — your usual smattering of Cadillac, Lincoln and other typical models.
According to the Carfax report, this Mercedes was originally located in Texas, followed by Ohio and Kentucky — though it’s most recently been in Colorado. Indeed, it’s still wearing Colorado plates and probably comes with a Colorado title despite its New Mexico location. Mileage is low and seems to be verified by the Carfax report, and this really is a neat relic from another era. Find a Mercedes-Benz 380SEL for sale
