This truck’s manufacturer, Grumman, is known primarily as a longtime manufacturer of military and civilian aircrafts, but it’s also known as the producer of the Grumman LLV, better known as the iconic United States Postal Service mail truck, and other utility trucks such as this one The company became Northrop-Grumman after a 1994 merger with Northrop Corporation; another aircraft manufacturer and government defense contractor.
The truck for sale here was used as a handyman truck for the past year and a half and it seems that it served as a USPS vehicle prior to that. It measures 113-in tall, 80-in wide, and 228-in (or about 19-ft) long. Though it looks a little ominous in the photos, the previous owner put some time and money into maintaining it over the course of their short ownership period, and the truck comes with new tires, new brakes, new wheel bearings, a new water pump and alternator, new batteries, new mufflers, a new windshield, and more. In the engine compartment is a 6.2-liter diesel V8; presumably GM’s famous Detroit Diesel. This is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Beyond that, the truck comes with dual rear wheels, opening driver and passenger doors, a roll up rear door, and no known issues. Mileage is reasonable – the odometer reads 130,000.
This old Grumman P30 mail truck, or current handyman truck, or future food truck – whatever you want to call it, really – is offered by a private seller in Sarasota, FL with an asking price of $8,500. Find a vehicle for sale
