Today, I’m rounding up the most expensive pickup trucks for sale on Autotrader. Most people are well aware that pickup trucks have been gradually getting more expensive — but if you think $60,000 or even $80,000 is the most you can spend on a pickup, think again. Here are a few examples of trucks — admittedly, some rare, speciality models — that go well beyond that mark.
This 2013 Ford F-150 Raptor is the most expensive pickup truck currently listed for sale on Autotrader. Exactly what makes it so valuable? As the ad notes, this truck has been given a "professional" pre-runner build, with the obvious intent to make the truck incredibly capable in desert-style off-road races. But, according to the ad, the owner decided to focus on different vehicles after the build was finished — so now this truck is for sale with zero off-road use and an amazing off-road build. It’s offered by a private seller in Southern California with 32,200 miles for $275,000.
Although this Hummer isn’t a pickup truck with a large bed, it does indeed have a bed, as it’s the "open top" model rather than the full-roof "wagon." This particular H1 is also an "Alpha," which was the brand’s term for Hummer models from the final year of production with the desirable Duramax diesel engine — a powertrain that offers excellent performance and capability. This particular H1 Alpha has traveled just 18,000 miles, and it’s offered by Prestige Imports in the Miami area for $249,950 — a figure that may seem high unless you’re in the market for an H1 Alpha, in which case you understand just how valuable and sought-after these trucks are.
The Ford F-150 Raptor is a desirable, capable and very cool truck — but you can make the Raptor even cooler. Specifically, you can transform it from a 4-wheel drive truck into a 6-wheel drive truck, as the crazy people at Hennessey Performance in Texas do. This is a 6-wheeled Hennessey Raptor, and it’s currently offered for sale with just 375 miles by Fusion Luxury Motors in the Los Angeles area for $239,950.
The 2019 Ford F-450 Platinum is a full-size, heavy-duty, ultra-massive luxury pickup truck — and this particular example goes even further than normal, with lifted suspension and brightly colored alloy wheels. This truck is offered by Dewey Ford in Ankeny, Iowa, for $148,150, making it the most expensive brand-new pickup on Autotrader, as it’s a 2019 model with just four miles on the odometer.
Work trucks count, too! Unlike the glamorous, showy and luxurious vehicles above, this particular Ram 5500 Tradesman isn’t designed to show off or get people to look — instead, it’s a work vehicle, designed for a specific job, with a hydraulic arm on the back. This particular Ram Tradesman has covered just 124 miles from new, and it’s currently offered by Johnson Auto Plaza in Brighton, Colorado, near Denver, for $134,513.
