2019 Toyota RAV4: 5 Reasons to Buy

The Toyota RAV4 has a strong reputation as a practical compact SUV and that reputation gets even stronger with the 2019 redesign. The all-new 2019 model takes everything we loved about the previous RAV4 and made it better with a new look, new features, more power, and better fuel economy.

Here are five reasons to buy the all-new 2019 Toyota RAV4.

Super Efficient

The new RAV4 is among the most efficient in its competitive class achieving up to 26 miles per gallon in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. Those numbers take a slight hit when you opt for all-wheel drive, but there’s also an efficient new RAV4 Hybrid that returns an amazing 41 mpg city/38 mpg hwy rating and includes standard AWD. You might think great fuel economy means a weak engine, but the gas-powered RAV4 makes 203 horsepower, which is a 27 hp improvement over the previous model.

Big Cargo Area

The RAV4 may be a compact SUV, but it has cargo space that is above average for its class. With the back seats folded up, you get an impressive 37.5 cu ft. of cargo space and that increases to 69.8 cu ft. with the back seats folded down. That’s plenty of room for a weekend trip with the family or a big grocery run. See the 2019 Toyota RAV4 models for sale near you

Generous Standard Driver Assistance Tech

Every 2019 RAV4 comes standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 (TSS 2.0) driver assistance technology suite. This includes road sign assist, lane tracing assist, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist and road edge detection, and automatic high beams. That’s a ton of safety tech that could cost you a lot in added options with some competitors, but it all comes as standard on every RAV4, including the affordable LE model, which starts at just $26,745.

Rugged Adventure Model

You may not normally think of the humble RAV4 as much of an off-roader, but the Adventure trim can get more adventurous than you might expect for a small crossover. It comes with standard torque-vectoring AWD, a little extra ground clearance, a rugged exterior with plastic cladding on the bumpers and wheels, and the interior has unique orange accents. Like all AWD-equipped RAV4 models, it has a Multi-terrain Select system with four different modes to suit your traction needs. The RAV4 Adventure can also tow up to 3,500 pounds, which is impressive for this class.

Safe and Reliable

As you might expect from any Toyota, the new RAV4 gets great scores for safety and reliability. The NHTSA gives this SUV a perfect five-star overall safety rating and the IIHS gives is a Good rating in every category of crashworthiness. J.D. Power gives the 2019 RAV4 an above-average predicted reliability score of four out of five.

Autotrader Says

Overall, the 2019 RAV4 is an extremely well-rounded compact SUV that gives you just about everything you could want in this segment. It’s an outstanding value between its affordable price, great fuel economy and good predicted reliability, keeping your ownership costs low. SUVs are all about versatility and that’s exactly where the RAV4 shines. Find a 2019 Toyota RAV4 for sale
