2019 Honda HR-V Overview - Honda has been building small SUVs for the Japanese market for decades, but the HR-V arrived in America for the 2016 model year as part of a wave of subcompact crossovers. The HR-V is built on the same platform as the subcompact Honda Fit passenger car, but unlike the Fit, the HR-V is available with all-wheel drive. The 2019 HR-V seats up to five passengers in two rows of seats and offers up to 58.8 cubic feet of cargo capacity, with the rear seats folded down. As a subcompact crossover, the HR-V competes with similarly sized vehicles such as the Toyota C-HR, Chevrolet Trax, Mazda CX-30, Ford EcoSport, and the Nissan Kicks.
