<p>When most people think of Honda electric vehicles, they likely think of the Fit EV or Clarity EV. However, the EV Plus was the first Honda electric vehicle sold in North America. Early EV models had small batteries and a range of roughly 100 miles on a full charge. Thanks to advancements in battery technology, modern Honda EV models like the Prologue can deliver nearly 300 miles of range. In addition to vastly improving range, batteries can now recharge in a fraction of the time compared to the earliest versions.</p>

<p><strong>Honda Clarity EV</strong></p>

<p>The Clarity Electric is Honda's third EV, and like the previously built models, it was only available for lease in select markets. It is powered by a 120-kilowatt electric motor that produces 161 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. The 25.5 kWh battery provides 89 miles of range with a combined fuel economy of 114 MPGe and can be recharged to 80% in 30 minutes when using DC fast charging. When charging using a 240-volt outlet, the Clarity can fully recharge in 3.5 hours.</p>

<p><strong>Honda EV Plus</strong></p>

<p><a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/honda">Honda</a> built its first electric vehicle in 1997, and it was only available for lease in California. Only around 300 EV Plus models were produced and decommissioned at the lease's end. The 28.7 kWh nickel-metal hydride battery can be recharged from empty in approximately 8 hours using a 240-volt outlet and upwards of 24 hours using a 120-volt outlet. The relatively small battery provides a modest range of approximately 100 miles.</p>

<p><strong>Honda Fit EV</strong></p>

<p>The Fit EV is one of Honda's earliest electric vehicles, available for lease only in select markets. Because it was only available for lease, you won't find any for sale on the used Fit EV models for sale. Powered by a 20 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Fit EV has a range of 82 miles on a full charge with a combined fuel economy of 118 MPGe. Recharging a fully depleted battery takes approximately 12 hours with a 120-volt outlet and 6 hours with a 240-volt outlet.</p>

<p>A 92-kilowatt electric motor powers the Fit EV, producing 123 horsepower and 188 ft-lb of torque. Drivers can select from three drive modes: Econ, Normal, and Sport. The Econ model can increase driving range by 17% compared to Normal mode and up to 25% compared to Sport mode. Acceleration improves greatly in Sport Mode and offers performance similar to a 2.0-liter gasoline engine.</p>

<p><strong>Honda Prologue</strong></p>

<p>The Honda Prologue is a well-equipped electric SUV that is available in both FWD and AWD. This midsize Honda SUV is similar in size to the Passport and an excellent choice for drivers needing a little more space than the compact CR-V. The 85 kWh battery provides just shy of 300 miles of range with a combined fuel economy of roughly 100 MPGe. Charging on a level 2 (240-volt AC) charger takes approximately eight hours, and when using a DC fast charger, charging the battery from 20% to 80% in 35 minutes.</p>

<p>The FWD single motor configuration produces 212 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the AWD dual motor version produces 288 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque. The dual motor Prologue costs a few thousand dollars more than the single motor and delivers slightly less range that won't be noticeable in most situations.</p>
