First introduced to the U.S. for the 1982 model year, the Nissan Sentra has become known for its excellent reliability, great value, fuel efficiency, and safety record. While it is a basic, entry-level sedan the Sentra offers a lot of features for its price and has ranked high on numerous "best" lists we've put together over the years. Although it was first a "compact car", the Sentra's size has increased over the year and you could argue it belongs in the mid-size car classification as of late. If you're in the market for a Sentra, you know that it is not known for its acceleration and speed, however, you'll be getting an extremely reliable car with a large and spacious interior that is competitively priced. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has consistently awarded the Sentra four out of five stars for safety over the years. A slightly used Sentra would make an excellent choice for a first-time driver, recent college graduate or as a commuter car. Some of the most popular Sentra trims are the S, SR, and SV.
