Enjoying a bit of a makeover last year, the 2022 Jaguar XF luxury sedan returns with only minor enhancements.
Among the upgrades, keyless entry and 12-way heated power-adjustable front seats with driver memory are now standard on the base trim.
The P250 S, P250 SE, and the P300 R-Dynamic SE comprise the trim levels.
We like the XF for its elegant styling inside and out, compelling entry-level price, athletic handling, comfy ride, and spacious trunk.
Key competitors aligned against the XF are the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which cost thousands more than the XF.
The P250 S and P250 SE are rear-wheel drive (RWD). If you want all-wheel drive (AWD), you must step up to the P300 R-Dynamic SE, which provides it as standard.
Every grade comes with JaguarDrive Control with a range of four drive modes: Eco, Comfort, Dynamic, and Rain/Ice/Snow.
Regardless of the number of drive wheels, an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters switches the cogs.
Sharing the same version of Jaguar’s 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, the P250 S and P250 SE make 246 horsepower.
The government-estimated fuel economy is 25 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway, and 28 mpg in combined driving.
Using a more powerful 296-hp variant of the turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder, the AWD P300 R-Dynamic SE has a government mileage rating of 22 mpg city/30 mpg highway/25 mpg combined.
2022 Jaguar XF P250 S (starting at $45,300)
The 2022 Jaguar XF P250 S starts at $45,300.
The only real reason to choose the P250 SE over the P250 S is that the SE offers several options that the S doesn’t. If those options don’t interest you, we say stick with the P250 S.
Standard are 18-inch alloy wheels, hill-launch assist, LED headlights, power panoramic moonroof, power trunk lid, cruise control, and rain-sensing wipers.
Also included are heated power-fold outboard mirrors with auto-dimming on the driver’s side, leather seating, and 12-way heated power-adjustable front seats.
Other features are an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12.3-inch digital cluster display, and wood-veneer interior accents.
A Homelink transceiver, keyless entry, and pushbutton start are also standard.
The infotainment system includes an 11.4-inch touchscreen, an 11-speaker Meridian audio system, Bluetooth, satellite-radio capability, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. A wireless phone charger, two USB ports, and two 12-volt power ports are also included.
The driver aids are front-rear park assist, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and driver-condition monitor. Other driver aids are blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a surround-view camera.
Jaguar doesn’t offer any factory-installed options for the P250 S.
Adding the $1,150 destination fee to the P250 S base price brings the total to $46,450. Financing with no money down for 60 months at 3% interest works out to a monthly payment of $835. See 2022 Jaguar XF P250 S models for sale
2022 Jaguar XF P250 S Includes:
Auto-dimming rearview mirrors: Using photosensors, they recognize bright headlights closing from behind. They then automatically dim the reflection of those lights in the rearview mirror and the driver’s side outboard mirror.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: Allows your smartphone to interface with your vehicle. Not only can you access the music on your phone, but you can also send and receive messages, make calls, and so forth through your vehicle’s media system. Music streams through the 11-speaker Meridian audio system.
Driver aids: Among the included safety technologies are blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist.
2022 Jaguar XF P250 SE (Starting at $48,100)
The 2022 Jaguar XF P250 SE starts at $48,100.
The P250 SE builds on the P250S. It adds 19-inch alloy wheels, driver memory, bright metal pedals, high-beam assist, and a power-adjustable steering wheel.
Also included are traffic-sign recognition and adaptive speed limiter.
You can add upgraded Windsor perforated leather seats ($800), a ClearSight camera rearview mirror ($450), and a head-up display ($1,050). Pick up adaptive cruise control for $1,200.
A Cold Climate Pack with a heated steering wheel, heated front windshield, and heated wiper nozzles will set you back $700.
Opting for the $1,000 Convenience Pack gains you soft door close, more power ports, an electric rear-window sunblind, and a wearable activity key.
Adding the $1,150 destination fee to the P250 SE base price totals $49,250. With no money down, financing for 60 months at 3% interest works out to $885 per month. See 2022 Jaguar XF P250 SE models for sale
2022 Jaguar XF P250 SE Includes:
Traffic-sign recognition: A front-pointing camera captures images of traffic warning and information signs along the road, then matches these images with its database. When it recognizes an important sign, such as Stop, Yield, Speed Limit, and so forth, it flashes the information on one of the vehicle’s displays.
Adaptive speed limiter: Works with the traffic-sign-recognition system. When engaged, it automatically limits the vehicle’s speed in accordance with the posted speed limit.
Power-adjustable steering wheel: Changing the height and distance of the steering wheel is as easy as pressing a button.
2022 Jaguar XF P300 R-Dynamic SE (Starting at $51,000)
The 2022 Jaguar XF P300 R-Dynamic SE starts at $51,000.
This grade gets the more powerful version of the turbocharged engine and AWD.
Other than some R-Dynamic appearance elements, the only substantive extra is upgraded leather seating with contrast stitching.
All of the P250 SE options are also available to the P300 R-Dynamic SE.
Adding the $1,150 destination fee to the P300 R-Dynamic SE base price equals $52,150. If you financed for 60 months at 3% interest without putting any money down, the monthly payment would be $937. See 2022 Jaguar XF P300 R-Dynamic SE models for sale
2022 Jaguar XF P300 R-Dynamic SE Includes:
More powerful engine: This turbocharged 4-cylinder delivers 296 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
AWD: The 8-speed automatic transmission spreads the engine output to all four wheels, rather than just the rear wheels. This improves foul-weather traction.
Upgraded leather seating: This upgraded grained leather covers all the seats, including the front sport seats, and adds contrasting stitching.
