For the returning 2023 Genesis G80, Genesis has tinkered a bit with the infotainment controls to mimic those of the GV80. Consequently, it sports a new controller dial on the center console. Genesis has also replaced the Prestige packages with the Sport Prestige.
The G80 comes as a 2.5T rear-wheel drive (RWD) model or a 3.5T with all-wheel drive (AWD). You can add AWD to the 2.5T for $3,150.
Genesis parses the two core models into subsets based on available option packages. For the 2.5T, those subsets are Standard, Advance, and Sport Prestige. For the 3.5T AWD, you can choose Sport or Sport Prestige. We are going to cover all variants separately.
The Genesis G80 is a midsize luxury sedan that runs with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6.
We appreciate the Genesis G80 for its go-getter engines, sensible pricing, comfortable and well-appointed cabin, and an impressive warranty. The limited bumper-to-bumper warranty is for five years or 60,000 miles, while its industry-leading powertrain warranty covers 10 years or 100,000 miles.
The 2.5T versions source their power from a surprisingly spirited 300-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. It also produces 311 lb-ft of torque. No matter the engine or number of drive wheels, an 8-speed automatic transmission distributes power to the wheels. Both engines have a stop/start function that saves fuel when the G80 stops at, say, a traffic light. Both engines also require premium gasoline.
Let’s take a look at the various Genesis G80 trims.
2023 Genesis G80 2.5T: $49,500
The listed price is for the RWD model. Picking AWD adds $3,150 and gains you heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel.
Even though it’s the entry-level G80, the 2.5T is generously appointed. Eighteen-inch alloy wheels are standard, along with LED exterior lights (taillights, auto on/off headlights, and daytime running lights). Rain-sensing wipers, a hands-free liftgate, and power-folding outboard mirrors with integrated turn signals are also included.
Also making the grade is faux-leather seating, heated 12-way power-adjustable front seats with 4-way lumbar support, 10 airbags, and a power-adjustable steering wheel. Other niceties include dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry with push-button start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster.
A 14.5-inch touchscreen oversees the infotainment system, which includes a 12-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite-radio capability. It’s further supported by four USB ports and a 12-volt power supply.
As you’d expect, advanced safety and driver-aid technologies abound. They include a forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, blind-spot monitoring (with steering assist), rear cross-traffic alert (with automatic braking), and adaptive cruise control (with stop and go).
Rounding out the list of standard safety technology is speed-limit assist, driver-attention warning, high-beam assist, front/rear park assist, and safe-exit assist. Perhaps most notable, though, is this: The semi-autonomous Highway Driving Assist (that can steer, accelerate, and brake the G80 under certain conditions) is included, too.
Adding the $1,095 factory delivery fee to the G80 2.5T base price brings the total to $50,595. With no money down, financing for 60 months at 3% interest works out to about $909 per month. See 2023 Genesis G80 2.5T models for sale near you

2023 Genesis G80 3.5T Sport: $65,250
The G80 3.5T has a unique powertrain and suspension compared to the 2.5T models. The mill is a 375-hp 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine that generates 391 lb-ft of torque. It still uses the same 8-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.
The electronically controlled suspension is an adaptive system that reads the road and reacts to upcoming imperfections, maximizing ride comfort.
As for standard content, Genesis equips the G80 3.5T Sport just like the G80 2.5T — with all the Advance and Sport Prestige upgrades combined. However, it loses the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and rear-park assist with reverse braking.

Carbon-fiber trim – This material is rugged and light, so auto manufacturers often use it for interior trim in high-performance vehicles.
