For 2024, BMW will build the 8 Series as a 4-door Gran Coupe, 2-door Coupe, and open-air Convertible. Each model offers buyers a variety of engines and trims, including the high-performance M version.
The 840i is the entry-level trim, powered by a turbocharged 6-cylinder engine. Moving to the M850i models brings the first of three V8 engines displacing 4.4 liters but upping horsepower as they move to the Alpina B8 and M8 Competition models.

Scratching the surface reveals finer details, like a power retractable insulated soft-top with glass rear window (convertible), power trunk lid, auto tilt-down-in-reverse passenger side mirror, rain-sensing wipers, soft-close automatic doors, and an auto-dimming driver’s exterior mirror.
The 840i interior features partial Merino leather upholstery, 16-way power-adjustable heated front seats, memory for driver and passenger seat, a power rear sunshade (coupe), a head-up display, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate controls, and heating elements in the armrests and steering wheel.
