The Lexus NX returns substantially unchanged for 2024. It continues to offer compact luxury SUV buyers a wide range of models and engines, including a hybrid and plug-in hybrid option.
Like all Lexus products, the NX holds its value well, has an exceptional reputation for reliability, and comes brimming with the latest luxury and technology features. It faces off against rivals like the Genesis GV70, Lincoln Corsair, Infiniti QX50, and Acura RDX.
The NX offers two F Sport trims, one on the NX 350 and the other on the plug-in hybrid NX 450h. Although technically packages, Lexus posts them on their consumer site as trims, so we follow suit accordingly.
2024 Lexus NX 250: $40,205 (FWD), $41,805 (AWD)
The entry-level NX 250 isn’t big on power, equipped with the same 2.5-liter engine found in many Toyota models. It develops 203 horsepower and comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite of driver assists, the NX 250 touts forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, and automatic high beam headlights.
There’s also a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, and a system to detect when it’s unsafe to make a left turn across traffic and apply the brakes.
Safe Exit Assist watches for cars or bikes approaching from the rear. When detected, the system warns exiting passengers with an audible alert and prevents the doors from opening until the coast is clear.
Lexus Safety Connect can call for help in the event of an accident or help police locate a stolen car. It’s a subscription service with a 10-year free trial period.
The NX may be entry-level, but it’s far from sparse. The price includes 18-inch 15-spoke alloy wheels, bi-LED auto on/off headlights, roof rails, and heated outside mirrors with tilt-down in reverse and driver’s side auto-dimming feature.
Lexus’ SmartAccess allows the driver to unlock the doors and start the car without removing the key fob from their purse or pocket.
Inside the NX 250, we find NuLuxe synthetic leather upholstery, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way power lumbar support, an 8-way power passenger seat, and heated front seats.
Dual-zone automatic climate control, a tilt/telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shift knob, one-touch up/down power windows, and a 60/40-split power-folding rear seat are also included.
The NX infotainment setup includes a 9.8-inch touchscreen with cloud-based navigation, Lexus assistant (say the words “Hey, Lexus” to activate), SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system also serves as the display for the rear backup camera.
A 10-speaker Lexus Premium Sound System is standard.
Optional packages for the NX 250 include the Premium Package, which adds heated and ventilated front seats, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, driver’s seat memory (includes mirror and steering wheel positions), rain-sensing wipers, a hands-free power liftgate, a power moonroof, and Intuitive Parking Assist (front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking).
