With its electric powertrain, state-of-the-art technology, and luxury trappings you’ll never find in a Tesla Model Y, the 2024 Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV makes a compelling argument for moving away from gasoline.
Mercedes offers a wide range of trims and powertrains, including a high-performance AMG model. The EQE 350+ gets a 215-kilowatt, rear-mounted electric motor, while the EQE 350 4matic gets a second electric motor up front, giving it all-wheel-drive traction and stability. The rear-drive EQE can travel up to 307 miles on a charge, while its all-wheel-drive counterpart can cover 265 miles.
The EQE 500 4Matic has a more powerful dual-motor setup that increases output to 402 horsepower with a 287-mile range.
The all-new AMG EQE puts out up to 677 hp when properly equipped.
Buyers can choose from three trims: Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle. Except for the EQE 500 Premium, which has a few more features than the EQE 350 Premium, the contents for each trim are identical across the board.
The EQE SUV isn’t alone in competing for your luxury dollar. Other choices include the BMW iX, Genesis GV60, Cadillac Lyriq, and the Polestar 3.
What’s New:
The most exciting news is the addition of a high-performance AMG model. New battery packs increase range for the rest of the lineup, while a new braking system improves stopping distance and regenerative capture. Additional changes include new paint colors, interior trim options, a power open/close charge port door, and 20-inch wheels.
Our Recommendation:
The Mercedes EQE SUV Exclusive has most of what we’d like in a luxury EV SUV, and you can always add a few more upgrades. We’d stick with the EQE 350+. It provides the most range and still has lightning-quick acceleration.

2024 Mercedes-EQ EQE 350+/350 4Matic Premium SUV: $79,050
The Premium trim is the base for all three models. It includes a basic driver-assist package containing forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.
Mercedes-Benz Parktronic self-parking assist comes standard, as does a 360-degree Surround View monitor and automatic high-beam headlights.
The Mercedes Guard 360 vehicle protection system features sensors that detect disturbances around the vehicle and alert you via text.
Additional safety systems include tire-pressure monitoring and Pre-Safe accident preparedness systems.
The EQE 350 rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and features active shock damping for a more controlled ride. LED headlights match taillights with a single-piece light bar running across the power rear liftgate.
The Premium has heated power-folding side mirrors with a driver’s auto-dimming feature, Keyless Go with seamless door handles and hands-free access, a panoramic sunroof, and illuminated side sills.
Dynamic Select settings adjust performance with Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Individual modes. EQE 350 4Matic models get an additional Off-Road mode.
Moving to the interior, you’ll find a thoroughly modern layout peppered with Old World styling cues, mostly made of wood and chrome trim. MB-Tex synthetic leather covers the seats, dash, and door panels, while 64-color ambient interior lighting lets you create a cabin that best reflects your mood.
Standard equipment includes heated power front seats with contour ambient light, a wireless charging pad, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a fingerprint scanner for profile authentication (part of the MBUX system).
Directly in front of the driver is a 12.3-inch color display screen housing a digital instrument cluster. Move to the right, and you’ll see a 12.8-inch central OLED portrait-style touchscreen housing the navigation, infotainment, and climate controls.
Music flows through a Burmester 3D Sound System featuring Dolby Atmos for brilliant sound reproduction.
Wireless connectivity lets you access apps like Apple Music and Spotify. SiriusXM satellite radio is also included, as is the MBUX interface, which makes it possible to use voice commands by simply saying, “Hey, Mercedes.”
Among the many optional upgrades are Nappa leather upholstery, wood trim, 21-inch wheels, and rear-axle steering. Also available is an integrated dashcam, Airmatic air suspension, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 3D instrument cluster, and a Class II trailer hitch.

2024 Mercedes-EQ EQE 350+/350 4Matic Exclusive SUV: $81,150
The Exclusive trim brings more driver assists, thanks to the available Driver Assistance Package ($1,250).
The group includes adaptive cruise control with active stop-and-go, active steering assist, active lane-change assist, front and rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, and exit warning.
Also included is a system to automatically exit from a parallel or perpendicular parking spot. Additional Pre-Safe systems prepare occupants before a rear collision occurs and move the driver and front passenger away from the doors when detecting an impending side impact.
Mercedes adds another feature to the Driver Assistance Package called Automatic Lane Change, which can automatically change lanes and pass a slower-moving vehicle.
The Exclusive gains Active Ambient Light featuring backlighting for the dash, door panels, vents, console, and floor wells. It also gains augmented reality for navigation.
