Built to put Porsche’s performance expertise behind an innovative all-electric powertrain, the 2024 Porsche Taycan is a green driving enthusiast’s dream come true.
Offered as a sedan or wagon, the Taycan offers better ergonomics than a Tesla Model S, more model variation than the Audi e-tron GT, and a lower starting price than the Mercedes-EQ EQS sedan. However, the Lucid Air has a lower price and a more extended range, something to consider when comparing the two models.

The 2024 Porsche Taycan lineup carries over essentially unchanged. A new 2025 model will debut this summer, with the rest of the trim range arriving closer to 2025.
Our Recommendation:
The 4S trim is a sweet spot in the Taycan lineup. It has a nice balance of performance, luxury, and technology. We recommend upgrading to the Performance Battery Plus if your budget has extra room.

2024 Porsche Taycan: $92,550
The standard electric powertrain in the Taycan is a single electric motor producing up to 402 horsepower when you use launch control. The range depends on the battery; according to the EPA estimates, it goes 208 miles on a full charge with the standard Performance Battery or 242 miles with the optional Performance Battery Plus ($5,780).
The base model of the Porsche Taycan is a surprising value. Value and Porsche rarely coexist in the same sentence, but the base Taycan undercuts most of its rivals on price.
However, don’t let its relative bargain pricing mislead you. This base model is a well-equipped luxury car. Standard features include 19-inch wheels, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), launch control, Sport and Range drive modes, LED headlights and taillights, partial leather upholstery, heated, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 16.8-inch curved digital gauge cluster, a wireless charging pad, and a universal garage door opener.
The standard infotainment system in the 2024 Taycan has a 10.9-inch screen, navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a 10-speaker audio system. It’s upgradeable with a front passenger screen, a rear entertainment system, a Bose 12-speaker audio system, or even a Burmester system with 21 speakers.
Standard safety and driver assistance tech features include front and rear parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, and rain-sensing wipers.
In classic Porsche fashion, the Taycan has an exhaustive options list. One of our favorite option packages is the Premium Package ($7,150), which includes a fixed panoramic glass roof, the Porsche Dynamic Light System, a memory driver’s seat, cooled front seats, a surround-view camera, power-folding mirrors, ambient interior lighting, and an interior air ionizer.
We also like the Technology Package ($5,300), adding a passenger screen, a head-up display, Remote Park Assist with lane-changing assist, and adaptive cruise control.
Enthusiasts will appreciate the Sport Chrono Package ($1,340), which adds Sport Plus and Individual drive modes, a GT sport steering wheel with a drive mode switch, and an analog/digital chronograph. Some individual performance options include 4-wheel steering, torque vectoring steering, adaptive air suspension, and ceramic-coated brakes with white calipers.
As for individual aesthetic options, they are seemingly endless. You have more than a dozen paint options (including some daring colors like Carmine Red and Frozen Berry), seven wheel designs, a wide range of interior material and color configurations including multiple leathers and Race-Tex, adaptive sport seats, a third rear seat, the SportDesign appearance package, Matrix Design headlights, and so much more.

The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo reimagines this EV as a wagon with all-wheel drive (AWD). It gets extra ground clearance (and cargo space) and a unique body kit, giving it a rugged yet premium look. It uses a dual-motor configuration making up to 469 hp and gets up to 235 miles of range.
The big jump in price over the base sedan isn’t just because of the wagon body and AWD. It also comes standard with the Performance Battery Plus (optional in the base model), a panoramic glass roof, and an adaptive air suspension system.
Other than those significant differences, the standard and optional features of the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo are very similar to the base model. It does add the option of active roll stabilization.

The sporty and stylish Taycan GTS should be on the shopping list of any driving enthusiast craving an electric luxury car. It’s rated at 83 combined MPGe and 246 miles of range.
