If you're interested in a new luxury car, you're probably thinking about factors such as styling, comfort, driving experience, and choosing which luxury brand you want to buy from. You should also be thinking about features; you don't want to find yourself in an upscale vehicle that's lacking in must-have luxury equipment. To help you pick equipment wisely, we've listed a few items that you'll want to make sure you have in your next luxury vehicle.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive cruise control is an excellent benefit for drivers who spend a lot of time on the highway. It can slow you down or speed you up based on the actions of vehicles in front of you. Some systems even work well in heavy traffic because they can bring you to a full stop and get you started again once the cars in front start moving. While adaptive cruise control was once a treat reserved for only the top-end luxury vehicles, an increasing number of modern cars offer the feature -- so many, in fact, that you'll want to have adaptive cruise on your next luxury vehicle, or you'll feel like you're missing out.

Adaptive Headlights

Adaptive headlights are great for shoppers who frequently drive at night. While normal headlights are fixed in place, adaptive lights move with the steering wheel, illuminating the road around the next corner. We think that more cars should have this feature, so we strongly recommend asking about it when you're shopping for your next car. Most importantly, we recommend getting adaptive headlights in conjunction with xenon lights for the ultimate in automotive illumination power.

Automatic Wipers

The more your car does automatically, the more luxurious it is. That thought extends to the windshield wipers, which should definitely be automatic if you're buying a luxury vehicle. Automatic wipers sense rain and other inclement weather, switching on only when they're needed so you never have to touch the wiper control stalk when you're on the road. It's a nice feature to have, and it should be essential if you're spending luxury-car money on a brand-new vehicle.

Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control

Dual-zone automatic climate control is several features in one. To start, it's automatic climate control, so the air conditioning and heat automatically adjust based on the temperature you select. In other words, set the car for 72 degrees, and it will produce just the right amount of air at the right temperature to reach that figure. Dual-zone climate control goes even further, allowing both the driver and the passenger to choose their desired temperatures, even if they're several degrees apart. It's a nifty feature that you should definitely have in your next luxury vehicle because it goes a long way toward improving both your comfort and the comfort of the person sitting next to you.

Heated Steering Wheel

Unless you live in a hot climate, such as South Florida or Texas, we strongly recommend a heated steering wheel. While it sounds like an opulent extra, the heated steering wheel is now a commonplace feature on many luxury cars, and it's even available on a growing number of mainstream models, as well. Of course, it does exactly what it says: It heats your hands as you drive down the road on cold days. We think it's the perfect complement to heated seats, and you should make sure that you order it in your next car.

Power Front Seats

It may sound silly, but a huge number of modern luxury cars don't have dual power front seats. We don't like this, as it's never a good feeling when you step inside a modern luxury vehicle and have to use old-school levers to move the seats forward and backward. As a result, we strongly suggest that you make sure your car has dual power front seats. Even if they don't have numerous adjustments, such as lumbar support or a power headrest, any power seat is better than a manual lever if you've just spent big money on a new car.

Ventilated Seats

You've no doubt heard of heated seats, which help keep you warm thanks to a series of heating coils located inside the seat, but many modern luxury cars take this idea even further with ventilated seats, which help keep you cool. Ventilated seats are an excellent luxury feature, offering a great supplement to air conditioning on hot days. Because they're starting to make the rounds among mainstream cars, we strongly suggest opting for this feature in your next luxury car. You'll thank us on the next warm summer day.
