Dodge's new scavenger hunt ad campaign will award three Journey crossovers to the first person to locate them.
Dodge has already given away two Journeys, and the East Coast will receive its chance to win a car later this week. The car manufacturer launched a new television and online advertising campaign entitled "Search Engine for the Real World", and they hope it inspires people to get out and discover the Journey, literally.
Dodge has hidden three Journey models across the continental United States, one on the West Coast, one in the Midwest, and one in the East. The first person to locate the vehicle gets to keep it. The contest runs from now until September 27, 2011. The television commercials and online promotional spots give clues to viewers who pay extra close attention. Each Journey model is located in one of the most picturesque spots in the United States.
The scavenger hunt gets a little easier for participants each day. Dodge has set up cameras on the Journeys that offer a live feed 24/7. The footage is available at youtube.com/Dodge. Each day, more and more clues are released, but Dodge is confident that its three television commercials provide participants with more than enough information to locate the vehicles. Two of the commercials have already aired; they highlight the Journeys hidden in the Midwest and on the West Coast. The final commercial, which airs September 23, will highlight the Journey hidden somewhere on the East Coast.
The campaign is designed to showcase the Journey's flexibility, affordability and potential for adventure.
"The Dodge Journey is the 'Swiss Army knife' of vehicles," said Reid Bigland, President and CEO of the Dodge brand. "America's most versatile crossover is also now the most affordable in its class, starting at $18,995 MSRP. Part compact car, due to its affordable pricing, part SUV with available all-wheel drive, and part van with available seven-passenger seating, the Journey offers best-in-class versatility, driving range and value, allowing Journey drivers to explore all that America has to offer."
One aspect of the Dodge Journey that many may find appealing is the wide array of options to match specific needs. Drivers can choose between an economic four-cylinder engine or Chyrsler's acclaimed new Pentastar V6, with 283 horsepower and capable of achieving up to 25 miles per gallon on the highway. Those wishing to take a Journey off the beaten path will appreciate the optional all-wheel drive. The Journey also offers five or seven-seat configurations, both of which come with Dodge's signature floor storage.
