  • A new body color, Iced Chocolate metallic is complemented by a brown soft top
  • 17-inch Double Cross wheels are inspired by the Union Jack
  • Seats are covered in bespoke Dark Truffle leather with contrasting stitching

Those familiar with the film Shaun of the Dead may recognize the London suburb of Highgate, one of the locations featured in the 2004 British comedy. In reality, Highgate is a posh and exclusive area known for its Georgian charm and vast green spaces, not its roving bands of zombies. As a nod to such classic British style, Mini created the Convertible Highgate, a special edition of the ragtop four-seater featuring new colors inside and out, special alloy wheels and upscale interior finishes.

Exterior treatments to the Convertible Highgate include new Iced Chocolate metallic paint, complemented by a brown soft-top color that also has a subtle sparkle effect. Bonnet stripes are brown/black in color and outlined in blue. Other available exterior colors are Midnight Black metallic and White Silver metallic. The Highgate's side mirrors are also finished in the body color.

A new wheel design was created specifically for the special model. The Double Cross alloy wheels are 17-inch with a design inspired by the famous British flag, the Union Jack.

Inside, Dark Truffle leather seats with contrasting stitching are exclusive to the Highgate and are trimmed with light blue piping. The fine materials also cover the gear shift lever and hand brake, while the Chrome Line interior package replaces the standard trim. Stainless steel pedals and Suntouched Brushed Alloy accents further contribute to an upscale look. The light blue piping carries over to the Highgate's floor mats.

The special model is further differentiated by "Highgate" lettering on the side turn signal indicators, door sills and seat tags.

Arriving this spring at Mini dealers, the Convertible Highgate will bring elegant British style with either a standard six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission. In 122-horsepower Cooper guise, the Convertible Highgate may be the ideal soft-top for jaunts between fashionable boutiques. Or with the 184-horsepower Cooper S engine, the Highgate can facilitate a quick escape from those brain-hungry undead.

What it means to you: The Convertible Highgate edition adds unique and upscale British style to the soft-top, four-seat Mini.
