• Aston Martin Vanquish Volante debuted at Pebble Beach
  • Vanquish Volante starts at $298,000; will be Aston's flagship
  • Aston also showed two one-off Zagato concept cars

This year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance was a launching pad for several new Aston Martin models. The brand revealed its all-new Vanquish Volante during the week's events, along with two exciting one-of-a-kind concept cars.

Aston's most important unveiling was the 2014 Vanquish Volante. The new convertible is essentially a soft-top roadster version of the brand's high-dollar Vanquish coupe, which went on sale earlier this year. It includes the same muscular styling as the hardtop Vanquish, along with the car's 565-horsepower 5.9-liter V12 engine.

Of course, drivers who prefer the convertible to the coupe will have to pay big money for the drop-top Vanquish. Aston says the 2014 Vanquish Volante will start at $297,995, which is nearly $20,000 more than the standard Vanquish.

Next to the Vanquish in Aston's display at the Quail Lodge in Monterey was the brand's new V12 Vantage S. While the Vantage S was shown online earlier this year, the car's arrival at Pebble Beach marks its North American debut. Boasting a top speed of 205 miles per hour, the V12 Vantage S starts around $185,000 and tops Aston's entry-level Vantage lineup.

Aston's other big debuts in Monterey were both one-of-a-kind concept cars: the DB9 Spyder Zagato and the DBS Coupe Zagato. The gorgeous 2-doors were built by Italian design house Zagato to commemorate Aston Martin's 100th anniversary. Aston has joined with Zagato on many cars over the years, nearly all of which boast distinctive shapes and sharp lines.

Zagato's unique shapes certainly carried over to the DB9 Spyder Zagato and DBS Coupe Zagato. Both include long, flat hoods, wide grilles and typical Zagato sharp lines -- a stunning departure from Aston's usual coupe and convertible looks.

Unfortunately for those who enjoy the Zagato Astons, only one of each will be built -- and they won't be sold to the public. But Aston lovers will be able to get their hands on the Vanquish Volante, which is slated to go on sale later this year.

What it means to you: The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is the brand's new flagship model, since you won't be able to buy the gorgeous Zagato concept cars.
