• Special-edition package for SRT Viper GTS
  • Limited production of 50 vehicles
  • Exclusive details including matte paint

With a relatively low production volume and a price around $100,000, the SRT Viper is already a special machine. But a new, limited-run package allows Viper buyers to choose even more exclusivity. Available for the 2014 Viper GTS is the Anodized Carbon Special Edition Package. Only 50 units will be built with the equipment group that includes SRT's first factory matte paint finish and a list of other upgrades.

The new finish follows a growing trend in performance cars that began in the custom-car market and has since become increasingly common on factory models. Instead of a high-gloss shine, the matte finish provides a look that's subtler yet sportier. SRT's chosen shade is a dark gray metallic that's exclusive not only to the Viper but to the Anodized Carbon Package.

Along with the matte finish, the 2014 SRT Viper GTS Anodized Carbon wears distinctive 5-spoke Rattler wheels with a dark chrome finish. Other dark-colored accents include the matte Anodized Carbon shade for the fuel filler cap, satin black for the exhaust bezel and a raw carbon fiber weave for the brake ducts and rear applique. The Viper's big, 4-piston Brembo brake calipers are painted orange for contrast against the darker finishes.

The GTS is the more luxurious of the two available Viper trim choices, and the Anodized Carbon edition is no exception. Its Nappa leather and Alcantara interior trim sports contrasting orange stitching, while carbon fiber accents the door panels, center stack and steering wheel.

SRT has not yet announced pricing for the 2014 Viper GTS with the Anodized Carbon Package. More information is expected as production of the first examples commences early next year. The Anodized Carbon Viper is one of two special edition 2014 Vipers. The other is the track-focused Viper TA.

What it means to you: Drivers that like the look and performance of the SRT Viper but want the exclusivity of an exotic car should consider the 2014 SRT Viper Anodized Carbon edition. Only 50 will be produced.
