2015 Chevrolet Colorado GearOn Edition: Chicago Auto Show

What Is It?

The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado GearOn Special Edition is essentially a midsize Colorado pickup that’s outfitted with a wide variety of accessories from Chevrolet’s GearOn line. While some shoppers won’t want the extra outdoor-themed goods, many will find that the truck offers a good deal on some valuable extras.

On the outside, the Colorado GearOn adds a few cosmetic upgrades, including black 18-inch alloy wheels, a body-colored grille, and black front and rear badges. According to Chevrolet, shoppers who like these add-ons will soon be able to order them as aftermarket add-ons for the Colorado.

But upgrades to the Colorado GearOn don’t stop with those few cosmetic revisions. On the contrary, the Colorado GearOn is loaded with a host of highly practical accessories, including a bed divider for cargo, tie-down rings for gear, a spray-in bedliner, tubular running boards and cross boards located in the bed for mounting bicycles and other items. It’s a long list of impressive additions for the truck, which is likely to find its way into the hands of adventure-seeking drivers.

How Much?

If you’re interested in a new vehicle that can accompany you on adventures, whether a long road trip or a quick mountain hike, the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado GearOn is designed to be there for you every step of the way. While its cosmetic upgrades provide a unique look, the GearOn’s bed-mounted accessories will be helpful for shoppers with an active lifestyle, Chevy’s target demographic for the Colorado GearOn.

Other Cars to Consider

2015 GMC Canyon — While it doesn’t offer the go-anywhere accessories of the GearOn model, the Canyon is mechanically identical to the Colorado, which means that upgrades available on the Chevy will also likely fit the GMC.

2015 Toyota Tacoma — Known the world over for its go-anywhere capabilities, the Tacoma offers an extensive series of accessories aimed at car shoppers with active lifestyles. While the truck doesn’t offer a unique model with these items, add-ons are available from Toyota dealerships.

Used Ford F-150 SVT Raptor — Few vehicles boast the limitless capabilities of the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, a full-size pickup with a wide array of off-roader features. But prices are steep, so Colorado shoppers might want to consider a used model.
