- 2015 Chevrolet Corvette offers two new design packages
- Atlantic package focused on luxury; Pacific on performance
- Packages go on sale along with 2015 Corvette later this year
Chevrolet will soon offer two new design packages for its all-new 2015 Corvette sports car. While one offers a relaxed, luxurious look, the other boasts a high-performance slant for drivers interested in standing out from the crowd.
The more luxurious of the two new design packages is the Atlantic, which is only offered for the soft-top Corvette convertible. In addition to a Z06-inspired front splitter and chrome wheels, the package includes a unique set of custom luggage, gray-painted exterior design details, and unique floor mats and splash guards. According to Chevrolet, the Atlantic was inspired by “the luxury and performance of private jets seen at European vacation destinations.”
Shoppers interested in a sportier Corvette should opt for the Pacific design package, which Chevrolet says is “inspired by weekend drivers who attend West Coast track events.” Offered only as a coupe, the Pacific package adds a carbon-fiber ground effects kit, a carbon-fiber roof panel, red brake calipers, sport seats, full-length racing stripes and carbon-fiber interior trim.
Although Chevrolet has not announced pricing for the Corvette design packages, the brand notes that the packages will help give Corvette shoppers a unique experience beyond what the standard model can offer.
“One of the design goals for the Corvette was to provide customers with the flexibility to tailor the car to their personality,” said Corvette Exterior Design Manager Kirk Bennion. “The Atlantic and Pacific design packages were originally designed to showcase how the Corvette could be configured as a luxury sport GT car or as a high-performance motorsport car.”
Chevrolet says that the Atlantic and Pacific design packages will go on sale later this year with the rest of the 2015 Corvette lineup. Other updates for the latest model year include a new performance data recorder, along with a new 8-speed automatic transmission that replaces last year’s 6-speed.
What it means to you: The newly announced Atlantic and Pacific design packages will help the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette stay modern and unique as it enters its second model year.
