Nissan chose this year’s State Fair of Texas to reveal its 2018 Nissan Armada Platinum Reserve, the most luxurious version of its largest SUV. Building on the already highly contented Armada Platinum grade, the Platinum Reserve receives a dark chrome front grille, door handles and outboard mirrors, as well as 20-inch dark chrome wheels. Inside, special 2-tone leather seating with unique stitching highlight the Platinum reserve upgrades that also include black quartz and premium wood-tone accents.
Nissan recently announced its 2018 Armada Platinum and Armada Platinum Reserve would be getting as standard equipment its Intelligent Rear View Mirror. It’s a first in the full-size non-luxury SUV segment and a first for any Nissan vehicle. Through a built-in LCD monitor in what looks like a regular rear-view mirror, a rear-pointed camera provides a complete view of what’s behind the vehicle, despite whatever obstruction might prevent the driver from seeing out the rear window. People, packages or other cargo behind the driver’s seat won’t matter. The camera will have an unobstructed view.
Scheduled to arrive in Nissan dealerships later this month, the Armada Platinum Reserve will carry a retail price of $61,690 for the rear-wheel-drive model and $64,590 for the 4-wheel-drive version.
