Nissan recently gifted the American Red Cross of South Florida with a very special 2018 Nissan Titan. Using the 2018 Miami International Auto Show (MIAS) as a platform, earlier this month Nissan transferred ownership to a purpose-built, one-off, ultimate-service Titan to the not-for-profit disaster-relief organization. Another donation stemming from Nissan’s Calling All Titans campaign involving support and donations to the American Red Cross, as well as Habitat for Humanity and the National Parks Service, the ultimate-service Titan will respond to disasters around the United States.
Based on a 2018 Nissan Titan XD Diesel Midnight Edition Crew Cab, with its 5-liter Cummins V8 Turbo Diesel, this go-anywhere 4×4 truck has been extensively reworked to lengthen the ladder frame, adding an ICON 3-inch lift kit, an airbag suspension-leveling system, a beefier sway bar, stronger bumpers, body armor, a 75-gallon fuel tank, ICON wheels and Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, among other performance upgrades.
A B&S Customizing Lightweight Bed Box serves as a command center and shelter. Housing a bed, couch, mobile kitchen, dining area, desk and refrigerator for storing blood, it provides all the necessities for work and rest. There is a solar generator, built-in Wi-Fi, an upgraded navigation system and a wireless charging station.
Nissan has pledged $1 million in donations to each of its three Calling All Nissans partners. Depending on an organization’s needs, the donations will be in cash or a combination of cash and Titan trucks. To date, Nissan and Red Cross have partnered to raise more than $2.5 million for the organization.
