Autotrader Find: 1985 Chevy Blazer With a 1940 Ford Front-End

Now here’s a marriage of two vehicles that you don’t see every day. Today’s Autotrader Find is a 1985 Chevrolet S10 Blazer that certainly does not look like one from the front. That’s because its front end has been swapped with the front of a 1940 Ford. Why, you ask? If we knew, we’d tell you. Other modifications that have been made to the exterior of this Chevy Blazer include 18-in wheels and a black paint job with red stripes that kind of reminds us of the A-Team van.

As if that major cosmetic change wasn’t enough, the original engine in this Blazer has been swapped out with what the description calls a “Rebuilt 400HP small block Chevy.” That’s a little vague, but we’re guessing it’s some version of Chevy’s 350ci small-block V8. It says the transmission is a rebuilt “7R4,” which is shorthand for the 700-R4: a 4-speed automatic transmission that was prevalent in rear-wheel drive GM vehicles through the ’80s and early ’90s, so our best guess is that the engine is from around the same era.

Other mechanical modifications include air shocks, 4-wheel disc brakes and a trailer hitch with an electric brake module. The listing claims that this Blazer is still equipped with 4-wheel drive, but since it’s been so heavily modified, you should double-check on that if you’re considering buying it.

On the inside, you’ll find a 2-seat interior with a red carpet and tan seats which appear to be in pretty good shape. Some modern amenities that you won’t find in your average 1985 Blazer include power seats, power windows, remote power door locks, a tilt steering wheel, air conditioning, cruise control and an auto-dimming mirror with a built-in compass and thermometer. We can’t confirm just by looking at the photos, but we’re guessing that some of these more modern parts were sourced from newer versions of the S10 Blazer.

This Frankenstein of an SUV is for sale from a private seller in Bradford, Vermont, with an asking price of $15,000, which would be a little steep for a normal mid-’80s S10 Blazer, but the true value of this SUV is hard to determine because it’s so unique. If you’re looking for an SUV that is truly like no other, then perhaps this face-swapped Chevy Blazer is the one you’ve been searching for. Find a Chevrolet Blazer for sale
