As you probably know, many people who own Ferraris keep them tucked away most of the time, reserving them for special occasions and car events. Few Ferrari models accrue many miles, but this one has. This is a 1985 Ferrari 308 GTS with a whopping 96,000 miles — a shockingly high figure for a Ferrari.
As you can see, this 308 is offered by BMW of Akron in Ohio, and it’s a targa-topped GTS model finished in black with a bright red interior. The 308 looks like it’s in surprisingly nice shape considering its mileage, with little noticeable wear outside the car or inside it. Clearly, prior owners kept it well despite driving it frequently.
According to the Carfax report, this 308 was sold new in Massachusetts and reached 76,000 miles by 1999. That’s an amazing figure that suggests it was driven roughly 5,500 miles a year, which is a lot for a Ferrari — especially in New England. Since then, mileage was added in a more traditional Ferrari manner, with owners driving it sparingly in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
This 308 GTS is now offered for sale at BMW of Akron for $59,730, reflecting a market price increase for the entire 308 lineup, which is now becoming more desirable as buyers long for the car’s analog feel — and its classic wedge shape.
