Autotrader Find: 1993 Land Rover Defender Pickup

If you’re looking for a special Land Rover Defender, look no further than this one. It’s a Defender 130 pickup currently listed for sale by a private seller in Nashville, and it’s fantastic — with a lot of upgrades designed to improve usability, practicality, off-road capability, or just make it look very cool.

And, indeed, it does look very cool: if you’re curious what a "Defender 130" is, remember that Defender naming is all about wheelbases: the short one is the Defender 90 for its roughly-90-in wheelbase, then the 4-door is the Defender 110, for a 110-in wheelbase, and then the Defender 130 is a pickup version that’s longer still.

Defender 130 models are very rare, even overseas — and a left-hand drive version, as this one is, is rarer still. This Defender 130 has a giant, enclosed rear area for transporting stuff, the entire truck is sprayed in bed liner for a tougher look (and a better defense against off-road stuff), and the sale also includes a roof-mounted popup tent for off-the-grid camping.

For those of you worried about importing and titling, the seller says the truck was professionally imported and notes it has a clear Alabama title — a benefit, since a clear U.S. title should make it relatively easy to register elsewhere in the United States.

With all that in mind, this Defender 130 is listed for $68,998 — a reasonable price when you consider its upgrades, its rarity, and the fact that it’s left-hand drive.
