Autotrader Find: 80,000-Mile 1981 Ferrari 308

It’s not common for Ferrari models to accrue a lot of miles — but this particular 308 is a noteworthy exception. This 1981 Ferrari 308 GTS has traveled 79,500 miles from new, which makes it impressively high-mileage — and, in fact, the highest-mileage Ferrari currently listed for sale on Autotrader.

This 308 is finished in red on the outside like most 308 models — or "resale red" as it’s commonly called in the Ferrari community. Inside, this 308 is black, and the interior is gorgeous. It’s certainly nicer than you’d expect to see from an 80,000-mile car, and I wouldn’t be surprised to find out it’s been professionally redone.

So, how does a car that’s typically known for being garage-kept add 80,000 miles? The Carfax report shows that this 308 had 53,000 miles in 1999, and it appears that it had the same owner from at least 1999 through 2017 — an owner who clearly wasn’t afraid to drive it. It was obviously well maintained, though, as the interior and exterior both still look fresh.

If you’re interested, this 308 is offered by The Highline Group in the Boston area for $57,990, which is a bargain for a 308 these days — but, of course, you’re getting one that’s been driven a lot. Still, if you want to enjoy the vintage Ferrari experience without spending a huge fortune, this could be your chance. Find a Ferrari 308 for sale
