Diesel 4×4 Van
As you can tell by looking at it, this van has many quirks. Let’s start with the powertrain. This Delica is powered by a 2.5-liter diesel inline-four mounted between the two front seats. It powers all four wheels via a 4×4 system giving it some adventurous capabilities. This appears to be the naturally aspirated version of the diesel (the turbo ones say “Cyclone Diesel” on the valve cover) and if it is, it makes 74 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque. So not quite as much power as the aforementioned Raptor or TRX.
This van is already quirky just by virtue of being a mid-engine diesel van with four-wheel drive. But that’s just the beginning. The famously tall ground clearance of the 4×4 Delica is further accentuated by aftermarket wheels and meaty, knobby tires that surely improve off-road performance. We also have a bull bar and front fog lights that — like the wheels — both make it look weirder and add some benefits off-road.
Room for Everyone
On the inside, you’ll find seating for up to eight people, an altimeter, an Alpine head unit, and so much more. Have we mentioned that it’s right-hand drive? This van’s original home market is a mystery, but the fact that it’s RHD narrows it down a bit. It may have come straight from Japan.
This interesting van is for sale in Kutztown, Pennsylvania with an asking price of $13,900. It’s so unique that it’s hard to determine whether that’s a good price. We think it’s pretty reasonable for a highly quirky, highly capable van that can take up to eight people on an off-road adventure. Find a Mitsubishi van for sale
