Autotrader Find: Lexus IS-F With 250,000 Miles for $15,777

If you’re looking for a cheap Lexus IS-F, you don’t need to search anymore — you’ve found it. This 2008 IS-F is offered for sale by AR Motorsports in Lawrenceville, Georgia, near Atlanta, for just $15,777. There’s only one little catch: It’s done 250,000 miles.

Yes, that’s right: The 2008 IS-F, finished in Matador Red with a black leather interior, has covered 248,708 miles since it was originally sold new on August 23, 2008. Interestingly, that date was exactly 3,000 days ago, which makes our math problem easy: 250,000 divided by 3,000 equals… 83.33 miles per day. Every day. For more than 8 years. See the 2008 Lexus IS-F models for sale near you

Now, this sort of mileage would probably worry most prospective car buyers, but there’s one silver lining worth pointing out: If you check the Carfax report — which shows one accident, a minor collision in October 2015 — the car has been meticulously serviced since day one. And by “meticulously serviced,” I don’t mean it had an oil change every few thousand miles. I mean it has almost 70 service records, all from Atlanta-area Lexus dealerships, recording every possible repair or maintenance item you can imagine. That’s an average of eight trips to the dealer every single year. Of course, it was also a one-owner car (because there aren’t two people who would drive this kind of mileage) until a new owner (likely the current dealer) took ownership earlier this year.

So just how cheap is this IS-F? There are currently 88 different IS-Fs on Autotrader, and the average asking price is $33,500. Limit your search solely to 2008 models, like this one, and there are 33 examples with an average asking price of $28,000. In other words, this thing is a perfectly maintained IS-F… for half-price.

But is it even worth half-price, considering the mileage? That’s for you to decide. I’m merely an impartial observer who finds incredibly cheap performance cars with ridiculous odometer readings. Find a 2008 Lexus IS-F for sale

  1. As an owner of a LS600hL with almost 200000 miles, I promise this car is worth it. My car had a Platinum Lexus Warranty up to 140000 miles and all service was done at Lexus of South Atlanta. I bought it for $170000 with 178000 on the clock and haven’t had any problems, outside a break relay that wasn’t letting the cruise control work. It was $300 to diagnose and replace.

    • LS 600h would be a sweet ride. I’m assuming 170k is a typo and you paid $17k. Mileage also a typo as you wouldn’t have bought a 178,000 mile car with 140,000 warranty… right?

Great price for an awesome car.
  2. They really missed the mark with transmission on these.  People say paddles are faster, but how often do people actually track these? If i am not mistaken, the M3 has strong manual take rates.

  3. Doug, do you recommend the IS-F? It’s on my shortlist with an M3 and a Chevy SS.  I can find all in the $38k range.  While my heart is set on a manual transmission, an already-depreciated super reliable rocket may be worth compromising.

    • Lexus are built like tanks in my opinion , you can find a lexus working like a charm withk miles on it and works like a charm with very few repairs , unlike the M series and the chevy .

through my life with drivin k miles a year .
no matter what u get it is always priceless to have a car that u can trust it that it wont let you down stranded wherever u are .
    • I had an IS-F for 5 years.  In that time I put 113k miles on it.  I had picked it up as a one owner 2008 CPO when I bought it.  During that time I replaced the water pump 3 times which is a known issue on the 2008 and 2009 models.  Other than that it was just tires and brakes.  It was extremely reliable.  I finally got rid of it when the one catalytic converter failed that is built into the manifold and was going to cost me $2500 for parts and labor according to the dealer.  The part alone was around $1400.  It is to this day one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned.
