If you're disappointed that you missed out on the original production run of the Lexus LFA, I have some good news to share with you: You can still buy a new one. It's this one: a 2012 LFA, finished in white, with 94 original miles, and that has never been registered or titled.

For those of you who don't know the LFA's backstory, allow me to sum it up: Back in 2012, Lexus rolled out a halo car, dubbed the LFA, that they had spent approximately 74,000 years developing. I mean that. When Neanderthals were banging rocks and sticks together to make fire, Lexus was deciding which transmission to put in their "upcoming supercar."

So anyway: They rolled it out, and it had an MSRP of something like $500,000, but Lexus wouldn't sell it to you. Oh, no. To curb speculation, Lexus would only offer the car as a 3-year lease, which you could then buy when the lease was up. Only one problem: There was no speculation. As the last LFAs sat unsold on dealer lots, Lexus ditched the leasing restrictions, and eventually they sold leftover LFAs for under MSRP.

But demand has increased a bit in the years since, and the LFA has enjoyed a good reputation -- and so the average asking price of a used one on Autotrader is still a pricey $400,000. Or, you could just buy this new one: LFA number 486, currently listed for sale with a private seller in Carlsbad, California, near San Diego, who insists it only has 92 miles, has never been titled or registered, and -- this is a direct quote from the ad -- was "only driven to a charity event."

Here's another direct quote from the ad: "Please do not contact unless you're willing to pay asking," which is currently $382,000. A bit more that you'd spend on your average 2012 Lexus.
