- Dodge has partnered with Universal Pictures for “Furious 7”
- Two of the brand’s models and a Jeep will be featured in the upcoming movie
- The partnership also extends to music videos and television ads
“The Fast and the Furious” franchise’s latest movie, dubbed “Furious 7,” comes out in early April. When you see it in theaters, you’ll discover that some of the movie’s key roles are played by Dodge and Jeep vehicles, thanks to a partnership between the brand and Universal Pictures.
Two different Dodge models are specifically featured in the film, along with one Jeep. The Dodge models, a black 2015 Challenger R/T driven by Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) and a bright-red 2015 Charger R/T driven by Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel), factor into several key scenes, including various car chases. The movie also features a fully armored Jeep Wrangler driven by Ludacris’ character, Tej Parker. In all, Chrysler, parent company for Dodge and Jeep, provided around 30 vehicles for the film’s production.
To help support its partnership with Universal Pictures, Dodge is launching a new marketing initiative that highlights its vehicles’ appearances in “Furious 7.” The marketing drive includes a series of ads, dubbed Flash to the Future, that features sporty Dodge vehicles and includes clips from their on-screen appearances.
The partnership even extends to the soundtrack for “Furious 7,” which was released on March 17 by Atlantic Records. Songs on the soundtrack use a variety of vehicles, from vintage models to the new Challenger SRT Hellcat, in their music videos.
“Furious 7” and its auto stars will be in theaters nationwide on Friday, April 3. Like previous “The Fast and the Furious” movies, it stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and the late Paul Walker, in addition to new cast members such as Kurt Russell and Jason Statham.
What it means to you: Look for your favorite Dodge and Jeep models to star in “Furious 7,” but don’t try any of the stunts at home.
