Highest-Mile Porsche Models for Sale on Autotrader

The Porsche brand has a well-earned reputation for combining luxury and performance in a way that very few competitors can imitate. The distinct styling, the engaging driving dynamics and the hint of exotic exclusivity make it easy to see why Porsche is such a desirable brand. However, these cars are quite expensive when new, which has many shoppers turning to the used market.

Here are some of the highest-mile Porsches currently for sale on Autotrader. Each is affordably priced — but beware of the potential maintenance costs, which could take some of the fun out of the bargain.

1987 Porsche 944

1987 Porsche 944 — 259,771 miles

For many years, the Porsche 944 has been the go-to cheap used Porsche for enthusiasts on a tight budget looking for an affordable way to join the Porsche club. As long as you don’t mind that it has an inline-4 engine rather than a flat engine, the 944 is a quick and nimble sports car that does a respectable job of living up to the iconic Porsche name. It’s no surprise that the highest-mile Porsche for sale on Autotrader is an old 944 that has seen better days. The one you see here, which has more than 259,000 miles on it, has a huge dent in the passenger side of the body, and the rear windshield is just gone. This fixer-upper is for sale at East Coast Auto Source in Bedford, Virginia, for $2,795. Find a Porsche 944 for sale

2006 Porsche Cayenne

2006 Porsche Cayenne — 243,052 miles

Enthusiasts, I hope you’re sitting down. This is a 2006 Porsche Cayenne with a manual transmission for only $5,800. The obvious catch is that it has just shy of a quarter-million miles on the clock. It’s for sale at Tri-M Motorcars in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and you can see every detail on the car from the 50 photos in the listing (some of which are quite bad). The body appears to be in very good shape despite its mileage, but there are some not-so-pretty parts in the interior, including a big rip in the center console. Also, the listing describes a “slight timing chain noise upon cold start.” You’ve been warned. Find a Porsche Cayenne  for sale

1999 Porsche 911

1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet — 222,000 miles

The highest-mile 911 for sale on Autotrader as of this writing is this 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet with a manual transmission. There aren’t any good photos of the odometer, but the listing says that there are 222,000 miles on this 911. It’s the controversial 996 generation that is looked down on by some Porsche purists for being the first 911 with a water-cooled engine and for having those oddly-shaped “fried egg” headlights. If you don’t mind the look or the radiator, the 996 is a great car with a fun-to-drive character that lives up to its nameplate’s legacy. The Autotrader listing doesn’t have a price, but if you go to the dealer’s website it shows an asking price of $14,990. Find a Porsche 911 for sale

2011 Porsche Panamera Turbo

2011 Porsche Panamera Turbo — 168,595 miles

This 2011 Porsche Panamera Turbo with over 168k miles on it is the highest-mile Panamera on Autotrader. If you’re looking for a practical family Porsche, but don’t want an SUV, this all-wheel-drive sedan is perfect, as long as you’re brave enough to adopt one with this many miles on it. With an asking price of $16,999, this Porsche with a twin-turbo V8 making almost 500 horsepower is in a similar pricing territory as a new Kia Forte. Judging by the pictures, this Panamera is in great shape inside and out considering its mileage. This car actually has a pretty strong reliability rating from J.D. Power so it might be a more practical family car than you expected while also being an absolute blast to drive. Find a Porsche Panamera for sale

2008 Porsche Cayman

2008 Porsche Cayman — 173,226 miles

Speaking of practical Porsches, check out the highest-mile Cayman on Autotrader. This 2008 Porsche Cayman, which has more than 173,000 miles on it, is for sale at W.I. Simonson, Inc. in Santa Monica, California, with an attractive asking price of $11,599. You might not think of a midengine sports car as practical, but hear me out: As long as you don’t need back seats, the Cayman is a hatchback with surprisingly generous cargo space in the trunk and the frunk. This one also has the added convenience of a roof rack. If you like the idea of an affordable, somewhat practical Porsche but want something more modern than a 944, a Cayman like this one is in the sweet spot of value. Find a Porsche Cayman for sale
