Infiniti Q70 Premium Select Edition Officially Debuts in Pebble Beach

  • 2016 Infiniti Q70 adds new Premium Select Edition model
  • The model features handsome stylistic updates inside and out
  • Though pricing isn’t known, the Q70 Premium Select Edition will go on sale soon

Infiniti has unveiled an all-new special-edition model during this year’s Monterey Car Week. Dubbed the Q70 Premium Select Edition, the sedan touts several stylistic enhancements over the standard Infiniti Q70.

The biggest changes come to the outside, where the new Q70 Premium Select Edition features darkened chrome trim and new 20-inch wheels with wider 245-series all-season tires. The sedan also adds a subtle new spoiler on the trunk, along with a darker rear valance below the bumper.

Inside, the Q70 Premium Select Edition features several changes over the standard Q70. There’s a suede headliner, for instance, along with well-appointed leather upholstery available in graphite or stone finishes. The Q70 Premium Select Edition also touts aluminum interior finishes, illuminated door sills and revised floor mats with contrasted piping on the edges.

If you’re interested in a Q70 Premium Select Edition, you can get it in two versions: one with the car’s standard 3.7-liter V6 and the other with the optional 5.6-liter V8. Rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is offered. The Premium Select Edition isn’t available in the Q70’s long-wheelbase guise, and it isn’t offered with the sedan’s hybrid powerplant.

Although Nissan hasn’t announced pricing or a release date for the Q70 Premium Select Edition, we expect to see it in dealers shortly with a slight premium over the standard model’s base price of around $50,900 for the 3.7-liter V6 or $63,900 for the 5.6-liter V8.

What it means to you: The 2016 Infiniti Q70 Premium Select Edition is a handsome new package designed to appeal to luxury-sedan shoppers interested in a sporty, sleek look.
