- New report from Women-Drivers.com names top car brands for shopping
- Report examined more than 3,400 dealership ratings and reviews from women
- Volkswagen topped the survey, with Ford and Chevrolet close behind
A new report from Women-Drivers.com has officially named the top 2015 automotive brands for car shopping, as rated by women. The report, which primarily focuses on dealership customer service and satisfaction with the car shopping process, was compiled from more than 3,400 dealership ratings and reviews created by women.
Topping the list is Volkswagen, which earned a 4.75 out of a possible score of 5.0 on the site’s Women Satisfaction Index (WSI). Ford scored close behind with a 4.74 rating, while Chevrolet, Jeep and Buick round out the top five, each with scores above a 4.6.
Interestingly, Buick, Audi and Lexus are the only luxury brands to make the list of the top 15 automotive brands as rated by WSI. Other top car brands include Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Nissan and Subaru.
According to Women-Drivers.com, the survey can be an important tool for automakers and their dealerships looking to convert female leads into actual customers and car buyers. After all, a more satisfied shopper is more likely to turn into a buyer. That’s especially true when you consider data from the site showing that women rely on car dealership reviews a whopping 50 percent more than men do.
Not surprisingly, Autotrader’s own data also reveals some key differences between men and women when it comes to car shopping. For example, while male drivers are far more likely to have an automotive app on their smartphone, female drivers are more likely to use their smartphone to request a price quote. The way a dealership responds to such a request could impact how women view the car shopping process, as well as the overall car brand.
What it means to you: A survey of women car shoppers reveals that the best places to look for a new car are Volkswagen, Ford and Chevrolet dealerships.
