These Are the Coolest 1980s and 1990s Vans for Sale on Autotrader

Although you’ll get a lot of — uninformed, in my opinion — people telling you that vans aren’t cool, that isn’t the case. Vans are very cool — and today, I’m going to show you what I mean. Here are five rather cool 1980s and 1990s vans currently listed for sale on Autotrader, all of which are weird and unusual and certainly worthy of a close look if you happen upon one at cars and coffee.

1988 Chevrolet Astro

1988 Chevrolet Astro – $9,600

The Chevy Astro was an icon of the 1980s and 1990s — and this particular Astro is extra unusual, as it’s not just a van, but also a mobile sound system with a truly massive array of speakers in the back. It’s likely this Astro was once used to promote car audio systems, but now it’s offered by Delray Beach Motors in Florida with 39,500 miles for $9,600. Find a Chevrolet Astro for sale

1989 Chevy G30 Surveillance Van

1989 Chevy G30 Surveillance Van – $6,995

This 1989 Chevy van is special in part because it’s a 1989 Chevy van with just 18,500 miles, which likely makes it one of the best-preserved Chevy cargo vans on earth. But it’s also special because of its interior: According to the ad, this van was formerly used as a government surveillance van, and it has the interior to match this claim, with electronics throughout. It’s offered by Levittown Auto in Pennsylvania for just $6,995. Find a Chevrolet G30 for sale

1996 Dodge 2500 Passenger Va

1996 Dodge 2500 Passenger Van – $10,900

Very few 1990s Dodge vans were preserved well by their owners — but this one was. This 1996 Dodge Ram Passenger Van has traveled just 73,000 miles, and it’s finished in a charming two-tone light blue with dark blue in the middle. It’s offered by Garren Auto Sales in Wellford, South Carolina, for $10,900, and it’s in truly excellent shape for a Dodge Ram passenger van — the likes of which you hardly see anymore in any condition. 1997 Plymouth Voyage

1997 Plymouth Voyager – $10,250

Although there’s nothing inherently special about a 1990s Plymouth Voyager, this particular example is indeed special. That’s because it’s traveled just 21,000 miles from new, likely making it one of the best-preserved Voyager models in existence. It’s finished in white with a gray interior and it shows practically zero wear — it’s truly the best one of these I’ve seen in about a decade. It’s currently listed for sale by a private seller in Carrollton, Texas, for $10,250. Find a Plymouth Voyager for sale

1997 Volkswagen Eurovan Camper

1997 Volkswagen Eurovan Camper – $31,990

Probably the coolest van of the 1990s is the Volkswagen Eurovan, which was sold in North America beginning with the 1992 model year. The standard Eurovan is cool, but the camper version — like this one — is even cooler, as it’s a family van where you can also pop the top and sleep inside like a tent. This 1997 model is offered by a private seller in Los Angeles with 60,500 miles for $31,990. Find a Volkswagen Eurovan for sale
