Video | 2018 Mazda3: 60-Second Stats

Just a few years ago the Mazda3 became Mazda’s fastest-selling vehicle with over 4 million sold. We have a look at what the 2018 Mazda3 has to offer and why that count will continue to rise pretty quickly.

37 Miles Per Gallon

The mpg numbers will save you at the pump, and they really do speak for themselves. The Mazda3’s base engine returns 37 mpg on the highway with both the automatic and the 6-speed manual transmissions.

18-inch Alloys

The Mazda3 is offered in two versions, the 5-door hatchback and a sedan. Either choice is a good one, as both designs are very impressive. The interior is designed and focused around the driver, and you really feel that effort. The exterior is attractive as well. The Touring trim level boasts beautiful 18-in alloys, a rear spoiler and dual exhausts.

2.5 Liter and 2.0 Liter

The base engine is a 2.0-liter 155 horsepower 4-cylinder. The other option offers a bit more power. It’s a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder good for 184 horses. Drive both, because this car is fun to drive in any form.

18-mph Smart Braking

Mazda offers a ton of safety, and we especially like the Smart City Brake Support. Essentially, if your braking reaction is too slow, it will take over and apply the brakes for you when traveling between two and 18 miles per hour.

Cons

7-inch Screen

Up front is an easy-to-use 7-inch screen. The system does work well with smartphones, but if you’re hoping for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, it doesn’t have it. That could be a slightly disappointing for those who stay connected to their phones.

Autotrader Says

The 2018 Mazda3 is certainly worth checking out. Not only is it versatile, it’s also good-looking, and more than anything, it’s fun to drive.
