This week, Hoovie and Doug are looking at car brands that should make a comeback. In this surprisingly agreeable episode of "Hoovie and Doug Talk About Cars," Hoovie and I are talking about brands we miss — and brands that actually have a good shot at success, if they were to make a return. With that in mind, here are some links to reasonable approximations of our picks currently listed for sale on Autotrader:
– Hoovie’s top pick was Duesenberg, which is too old for any listings on Autotrader. However, there are Duesenbergs listed for sale on Autotrader Classics — like this 1932 Model SJ for $275,000.
– Hoovie also selected Saab, and there are many used Saab models currently listed for sale on Autotrader — including this very late production 9-5 Aero listed for $24,999.
– My top choice was Hummer, which I think would survive well in today’s SUV-friendly climate. There are many Hummer models for sale on Autotrader, but among the most interesting is this H3T Alpha: a V8-powered midsize Hummer pickup truck.
– I also suggested Pontiac, which had a nice niche carved out in GM’s world. This 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP is listed for sale on Autotrader, and it’s an excellent example of a late-production Pontiac.
