As one of the last wagons on the market capable of venturing a bit off-road, the 2024 Audi A4 allroad resides in a tiny pool of like-minded vehicles. Audi offers the A4 allroad in three trims: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. A 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is standard for all three, as is Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive.
In its size and price range, the only natural alternative to the A4 allroad is the Subaru Outback Touring. However, if you don’t mind paying more, the larger Audi A6 allroad, Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain Wagon, and Volvo V90 Cross Country also fit the mold.
What’s New:
For 2024, the A4 allroad gains more standard equipment. Among the more notable upgrades are adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a heated steering wheel with Hands-on Detection. Prestige trims gain traffic sign recognition, which is optional on the Premium Plus.

For the money, the A4 allroad Premium Plus would be our pick. Toss in the Warm Weather and Navigation packages, and you have a thoroughly enjoyable ride brimming with technology and luxury.

2024 Audi A4 allroad Premium: $47,995
The entry-level Premium gets some new features this year, making it more appealing to buyers on a budget. As with its siblings, the A4 allroad Premium employs a 261-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Power runs to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Although not a rugged off-road capable vehicle, the allroad can tackle mild off-road conditions thanks in part to an adaptive damping suspension, which helps smooth the allroad’s ride over rough road surfaces yet keeps it taut when carving up the curves.
The Premium trim includes LED headlights and daytime running lights, rain-sensing wipers, and manual-folding heated power side mirrors. Rear privacy glass comes standard, as do aluminum roof rails, a power liftgate, 18-inch alloy wheels, and LED taillights with dynamic turn signals.
Overhead, a massive panoramic sunroof brightens the interior and includes a power sunshade.
Opting for the Premium trim in no way lessens luxury and convenience features. Standard items include tri-zone automatic climate control with rear seat controls and air vents, a heated tilt/telescoping steering wheel with shift paddles, and an illuminated stalk for the cruise control.
Both driver and front passenger enjoy 8-way power-adjustable heated seats, with the driver gaining 4-way power lumbar support. Whereas some entry-level luxury trims use synthetic upholstery, the A4 allroad Premium comes standard with genuine leather.
Rear seat passengers sit on a 40/20/40-split folding seat that can accommodate two passengers in the outer positions and still fit a long cargo item through the folding center section.
The driver enjoys an analog instrument cluster with a 7-inch color driver information center that displays various readouts such as mileage, fuel economy, audio setting, and more.
Audi’s MMI Touch Display comprises a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen hosting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also included is a trial plan for Audi Connect Care, which allows owners to lock and unlock, locate, or track a stolen allroad from the convenience of their smartphone.
When not hosting media duties, the touchscreen serves as the display for the AM/FM radio, rear backup camera, and various system settings. It also grants access to Audi Driver Select, allowing the driver to alter the throttle input, steering feel, and transmission shift points via five modes: Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency, Auto, and Offroad.
Via the myAudi app, you can remotely start the car and precondition the cabin.
A 180-watt, 10-speaker Audi sound system comes standard.
The A4 Premium touts several standard driver-assist systems, including adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, and a pre-collision system that automatically closes the windows and sunroof while tightening the seatbelts.
Additional safety measures include electric child locks for the rear doors with the buttons conveniently located on the power window control panel. Lane-departure warning alerts the driver when the vehicle drifts across a lane marker. At the same time, automatic high-beam headlights switch on in low-light situations and dim when sensing a vehicle ahead or oncoming traffic.
The A4 allroad Premium rounds out its standard equipment with a built-in garage door opener, a tool kit, a compact spare tire, and an integrated toll module.
Buyers looking for more features can upgrade to the Convenience package, which adds Audi Advanced Key keyless entry, auto-dimming side mirrors with memory, and a blind-spot monitor. Oddly, rear cross-traffic detection is not available.
Also in the package is a motion sensor alarm system, a 2-position driver’s seat memory, and SiriusXM 360L satellite radio.
Standalone options include rear side-impact airbags and premium paint finishes.

Additional equipment includes power-folding side mirrors, a 360-degree monitor, a wireless charging pad, and Audi’s stylish Virtual Cockpit featuring a 12.3-inch digital cluster display. Virtual Cockpit consists of three themes: Classic, Sport, and Dynamic. The screen can also serve as a massive map display for the optional navigation.
Perhaps the best reason to move to the Premium Plus is its standard 755-watt, 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system.
Options for the Premium Plus include the Warm Weather package, which adds ventilated sport front seats with 4-way power lumbar and manual rear side window sunshades.
Also available are Audi navigation and Audi Connect Plus, the latter granting access to features like a Wi-Fi hotspot and Amazon Music. Along with navigation, you’ll get traffic sign recognition that alerts you to the posted speed limit and works with the adaptive cruise control to ensure you won’t get a speeding ticket.
