Shaq's Escalade

Looking to get your baller status confirmed? You’d be hard pressed to find a better car for the job than a Shaquille O’Neal owned and customized Cadillac Escalade that doubled as a cop car. Shaq bought this car and had it modified while he was playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, and now it’s for sale on AutoTrader.

The car comes with a lot of modifications that the NBA star required. First of all it’s fitted with a customized seat rail setup so a person of Shaq’s size can comfortably get in and drive it.

The speedometer is one of a kind and among the normal blue speed markings is a red 34, Shaq’s number when he played for the Lakers. The cargo area is filled with custom stereo equipment, the clock is from Bulgari and there are Shaq inspired hints all over the truck. In all, the owner says he thinks over $150,000 has been spent on custom modifications to this Cadillac.

Shaq has been very involved in law enforcement and moonlighted as a police officer in many of the cities he played. Brandon Stewart, the owner of the car, said he had to disable some of the police strobe lights that were on the car when Shaq sold it.

The lights weren’t the only features that were since disabled. Stewart said that the fog system that was in the car was giving it some condensation issues.

The Caddy also comes with a copy of the original title, which will confirm this car’s celebrity history.

Shaquille O’Neal made a name for himself mainly as a defensive player. His massive size and ability to intimidate his opponents became an asset to the teams he played for over his nine year (so far) NBA career. O’Neal currently plays for the Boston Celtics.

He holds the all time NBA record for leading the league in field goal percentage, beating Wilt Chamberlain in the 2008-09 season.

The Escalade itself is an ESV Platinum Edition. Most of the features that set the Platinum Edition apart from normal models have since been upgraded, but you still get heated and ventilated cupholders, so that’s something.

The asking price on the AutoTrader ad is $25,000, which compares pretty well with other Escalade ESV Platinums with this kind of mileage (61,500 miles).
