What would be the ideal car for a man who fights celebrities, stars in reality shows and marries himself? A golden Lamborghini, what else?
NBA star, Dennis Rodman’s customized 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo is currently up for sale on AutoTrader Classics.
Rodman had customized the car with a set of chrome wheels, and a unique paint job. The majority of the car is covered in $15,000 worth of gold metallic, and black paint. According to Emile Jutras who works at the dealership that is selling the car, there used to be a portrait of Rodman on the sides but after a small accident damaged the side of the Lambo, it was decided to just re-spray that section without it.
New, a Gallardo would fetch about $170 thousand and the current asking price for this car is about $95 thousand. The car only has seven thousand miles on it and it is the least expensive Gallardo being listed on the site.
What else would Rodman drive but one of the flashiest cars to ever come out of Italy? The Gallardo comes from the factory with a 495 horsepower V10 and is capable of running from 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. Lamborghinis are designed to be a low brow thorn in the side of Ferrari driving aristocrats, and this car pulls that off with room to spare.
Over the course of his career, Rodman has racked up a massive list of achievements, and he still holds a host of records in the league, especially with regards to rebounds.
In spite of his basketball success, Rodman is probably best known for his stunts, and off the court antics.
In 1996, Rodman famously went to a book store in a wedding dress and a wig claiming he was going to marry himself. In 1998 he got drunk in Las Vegas and married Playboy and Baywatch star Carmen Electra. They filed for annulment 10 days later.
Rodman left the NBA in 2000, but played for other pro teams until 2006. He has been keeping busy in his downtime; he has starred in a major film, and in 2009 he appeared on Celebrity Apprentice. He also sparred with other celebs like Dustin Diamond in Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Fighting Championship, which he ended up winning in 2008.
