A “dually” pickup truck with a dual-rear-wheel setup serves a practical purpose in terms of capabilities. However, any automobile with six wheels is still a bit of an oddity. As unconventional as dually trucks may look, having six wheels still isn’t weird enough for some drivers. It opens up possibilities of modification and customization, some of which improve capability while others are just to make an already weird-looking truck look even crazier.
Here are some of the craziest dually trucks for sale on Autotrader.
When we see trucks with a modified suspension, they’re usually either jacked up to the moon or slammed down to the pavement without much middle-ground in-between. However, in this 2006 Dodge Ram 3500, we see a pretty tasteful lowering of a heavy-duty truck. We also see a paint job and other aesthetic modifications to make it stand out, but with a measure of subtlety. Mysteriously, the exterior door handles are missing and the listing doesn’t explain how you open the doors. The interior doesn’t have any major modifications, but it does have “Mega Low” embroidered on the front seats with the Mopar logo for the “M.” This truck has the Mega Cab configuration which means you get an extremely roomy second row of seats adding a measure of practicality to this modded dually truck. The asking price rings in at a surprisingly modest $24,995. Find a Dodge Ram 3500 for sale
On the opposite end of the subtlety spectrum is this single cab 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty. This truck has been featured in the 2017 SEMA show and it’s been on the cover of Diesel World magazine. If the bright orange paint doesn’t get your attention, the lifted Fox suspension, massive American Force wheels, or Jamo exhaust just might. The interior isn’t quite as flashy as the exterior, but the Roadwire custom leather seats are a nice touch. RLC Motorsports of Cookeville, Tennessee customized this truck and it’s sure to command attention everywhere it goes and it carried a hefty asking price of $79,000. Find a Ford F-350 for sale
If you’ve ever looked at a Ford F-450 Super Duty and thought “I wish it was bigger,” then we’ve found the truck for you. This heavily modified 2017 Ford F-450 King Ranch is the only truck on our list with a six-figure price tag coming in at $105,900. The long list of modifications on this truck branded “MEGALODON” in the custom front grille includes a Kelderman air suspension lift kit, Fox shocks, plenty of custom bodywork and lighting, American Force wheels with some pretty intimidating spikes on them, Fury Country Hunter M/T tires, MBRP exhaust, and much more. On the inside, things look surprisingly normal for a Super Duty King Ranch which means it’s a very well-appointed heavy-duty pickup so you’ll be comfortable while turning every single head you pass. Here we have another Ford Super Duty SEMA build, this time a 2013 Ford F-450 Lariat. The exterior has a nice aesthetic contrast with white paint, dark 24-inch American Force powder coated wheels, a black tonneau cover, and dark tinted windows. Modifications include Road Armor bumpers, Rigid LED light bars, custom front grille and headlights, AMP research power running boards, a powder-coated Kelderman lift kit with Fox shocks, an HNS single turbo upgrade, and much more that is noted in the listing. With an asking price of $64,999, it’s a slightly more affordable alternative to the crazy orange 2017 SEMA truck on this list, plus it has a back seat. Find a Ford F-450 for sale
With the listing claiming over $30,000 in custom fabrication (a number that’s easy to believe), this heavily modified 2014 Ram 3500 has the capabilities of a heavy-duty truck plus the convenience of a bed topper and a roof rack. Also, it has the Mega Cab body meaning a super roomy interior. Modifications include that insane orange, black, and silver paint job, custom lighting all around including a light bar on the front, a Road Armor bumpers, an RBP grille, Fox shocks, a Mag Hytec rear differential cover, American Force wheels (which seem to be very popular with customized dually trucks), Amp Research running boards, Katzkin leather seat covers with orange inserts, and the list goes on. Is all of this custom work plus the mighty Cummins turbo-diesel under the hood enough to justify the $79,999 price tag? Find a Ram 3500 for sale
