Autotrader Find: Gotham City Police Car from the ‘Dark Knight’ Movies

If you’re looking for a cool car that will stand out from everything else at cars and coffee, here’s something you might like. It’s a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria that started life like every other 2008 Ford Crown Victoria, except now it’s a Gotham Police Department vehicle — a replica of the police cars from the Batman "Dark Knight" movie series.

I mention it’s a replica because the ad doesn’t specifically say it was used in the movies, and in fact states instead that it has "professional custom paint and decals from Dark Knight series Batman," suggesting to me that it was created to look like the cars in the movie. With that said, it looks just like the movie car, so the modifications were successful.

Offered by a private seller in Orange County, California, this Crown Victoria has traveled around 90,000 miles from new and is offered for just $3,995. While it may not be an actual movie-used car, it certainly resembles it — and $3,995 is a good deal for something where, in the words of the ad, "everyone gets excited when they see this car." That doesn’t surprise me, as this is a cool, head-turning car, and the ad notes that it’s been "driven in parades, events, comic con, and on TV."

If you’re interested in a Crown Victoria, here’s your chance to own one that’s cooler than normal — though I suspect you won’t legally be able to drive it around with police lights and police graphics on the side, even if it’s all from the fake "Gotham City."

  1. There might be an exemption for this, I know for example Cleetus McFarland on YouTube has a crown vice with pseudo police markings and a light bar… Obviously it will have regular not state government plates.

More than likely, You have to cover everything up TILL you get to cars and coffee or trailer it there…
