Bentley Mulsanne and Continental Adding New Le Mans Edition

  • Bentley Mulsanne, Continental GT adding special edition
  • Le Mans Edition celebrates Bentley’s six race victories
  • Only 48 examples of each model will be built

There’s an exclusive new special edition coming to the Bentley lineup. The brand chose this year’s Pebble Beach automotive events to reveal its new Le Mans Edition, which celebrates Bentley’s six victories at the famous 24-hour car race.

According to Bentley, the all-new Le Mans Edition will be a limited-production trim level available for both the Mulsanne sedan and the entry-level Continental. All Le Mans Edition Bentley models will carry an individually numbered dash plaque, along with Le Mans Edition emblems on the headrests.

But upgrades to the Le Mans Edition won’t stop there. The low-volume Le Mans Edition Bentleys will also boast unique wheels, a unique Le Mans Edition clock, and specific interior and exterior finishes that won’t be offered on other Bentley models.

“We’re very proud of our motorsports heritage and we’re excited to celebrate our historic wins at Le Mans 24 Hours,” said Christophe Georges, Bentley’s president and chief operating officer. “The Le Mans Limited Edition models showcase our performance and handcrafted luxury through these unique, heritage-inspired specifications.”

Most of Bentley’s six Le Mans victories came during the race’s early years. The brand won Le Mans in 1924 and again each year from 1927 to 1930 before eventually retiring from racing. But a refocused Bentley race team returned to Le Mans in the early 2000s and won again in 2003.

Bentley says that drivers interested in ordering a Continental GT Le Mans Edition can do so now, with deliveries beginning in the next month. The Le Mans Edition model of Bentley’s full-size Mulsanne sedan won’t go on sale until this fall.

But if you’re interested in a Le Mans Edition Bentley, you’d better move fast: The automaker says it will build just 48 examples of each model. And while prices haven’t been announced, we’d expect a premium over the base-level Continental and Mulsanne.

What it means to you: The Bentley Mulsanne and Continental GT Le Mans Edition models bring an even more unique touch to a car that already stands out nearly everywhere.
