Costco members shopping for a new pickup or SUV this year should consider a special offer through the membership warehouse’s vehicle purchasing program. The Costco Auto Program provides members with a special, discounted price for new and certified pre-owned vehicles. Members then work with a dealer to complete the transaction and take delivery of the vehicle.
Now the Costco Auto Program is offering even steeper discounts on GMC and Chevrolet trucks and SUVs. Members get GM Preferred Pricing, the same discount offered to GM employees, plus any manufacturer rebates or incentives. Further, members who complete a satisfaction survey after purchasing one of these select vehicles will receive a $500 Costco Cash Card.
The special offer is valid on purchase of a Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe or Traverse and on GMC models including Acadia, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL. Eligible buyers must have a current Costco membership as of October 31, 2011 and must be complete their purchase by January 3, 2012 to be eligible for the deal.
Any member who properly documents a qualifying purchase and completes the Costco Auto Program Member Satisfaction Survey will also receive the $500 Costco Cash Card within six to eight weeks of completion.
Interested members can register with the Auto Program online or by calling 1-877-746-7422 to locate a participating dealer and receive an authorization code and PIN, which should be presented to the dealer at the time of purchase.
Costco’s Auto Program has won praise from members who like the no-haggle arrangement that allows comparison of a vehicle’s suggested price, invoice price and member-only price. If Costco and participating GM dealers can maintain the expected level of service while offering steeply discounted pricing, the special deal may prove a win for Costco, its members and The General.
