The Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association (GAAMA) has officially named the 2016 Chrysler Pacifica as this year’s best family car. The group declared the new van its winner after testing out 24 different family vehicles during its fourth annual Family Car Challenge.
“It was our most competitive Family Car Challenge yet,” said Christopher Lawrence, GAAMA president and chief executive officer of AutoAcademics. “Our journalists took almost 200 rides in the cars and trucks in order to truly get a feel for the vehicle, its value, energy efficiency, technology and comfort.”
Although the Pacifica won GAAMA’s overall award, several other models scored well in the firm’s six other categories. The Pacifica also won for best value, while the Mercedes-Benz GLC300 won for best technology. The Ford Explorer took the title for best 3-row SUV, while the RAM 1500 was named the best family pickup truck. Rounding out the winners were the Lexus LX 570 for best luxury SUV and the Chevrolet Volt for best green car.
