A kitted-out version of the rough-and-ready 2021 Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition packs all the right factory and accessory features the automaker offers for off-road use.
The 220 owners fortunate enough to shell out $90,000 for a Trophy Edition will be invited to participate in a single-day off-road competition held on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina. Of the 90 teams Land Rover will bring to the Biltmore, only the winners will get a trip to Eastnor Castle in England to compete in a final round of four-wheeling challenges against international competition.
The Trophy Edition includes features like a height-adjustable air suspension, a locking rear differential, and a host of off-road traction control modes. Land Rover then runs each SUV through its accessory catalog. Don’t look for extra woodgrain trim or soft leather seats. Instead, Land Rover adds extra skids plates, an air compressor, and provisions to mount a winch.
The 220 Defender Trophy Edition Land Rover plans to import will also wear a full wrap that Land Rover says was inspired by a remake of the iconic Defender offered in limited numbers to Europeans but not Americans. As a result, the SUVs feature a distinctive copper-hue partial wrap and large Land Rover Trophy door badges.
The package will be exclusive to the P400 X-Dynamic SE trim level. The automaker is no stranger to off-road challenges, though the Trophy Competition is the first such event open exclusively to current owners. See Land Rover Defender models for sale
